So, if I believe this dev blog :
Quote:
Industrials

  • All ship skill requirements reduced from 1-5 to 1. We want to overhaul Industrials roles as part of the Tiericide initiative and this is the first step in that direction. Watch out for more details when they are ready for player feedback.

Are all industrial ships still expected to require racial industrial skill at I for the next expansion ?

If yes, will they be rebalanced before the expansion hits TQ ?

All industrial will only need racial industrial skill at 1.
No, they won't be rebalanced before the expansion hits TQ.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

And the Iteron Vs will blot out the sun... no reason to use anything else anymore, since the itty V gives more space at skill I than anything else does at skill V.

I sense an ITTY V Nerf incoming. The only industrial that will EVER be used after this is the itty V. No reason to use anything else.

So you're saying that everyone in the game will suddenly want to fly a gigantic space-wang? Doesn't it have terrible align time? I seem to recall it does.

Either way, count me out.

Maybe they will be reblanced to do something industrial instead of just haul stuff around.

Mobile reprocessing facilities. This sounds good.

The Noctis should have had that ability, now that I think of it. Something where you'd need Lv5 Scrapmetal Processing and Lv5 Ore Industrial in order to get 100% yield.

I'd expect them to rebalance their align time, max velocity, etc. which could pretty much be more widespread than it is right now. The Iteron Mark V would most likely be the slowest to align and not necessarily the fastest, so the smaller industrials could find their own niche between the larger industrials and frigates.

Got to realize that the Itty 5 is very soft.

I have been making the assumption (of course we know how dangerous that is) that the Gallente Industrials will increase their cargo capacity with the level of the Gallente Industrial that is trained. So a max m3 fit Itty V will still hold 41.8k m3 of cargo for a lvl 5 pilot, but not so for a lower skilled pilot.

I could be wrong of course, but every other Indy ship increases it's cargo capacity with skill level.

otoh, I have an Itty V BPO that will be fully researched on June 5th and I'll start making them. :-)

The itty V has more cargo space at skill 1 than any other T1 hauler at skill 5, I think...

I suspect the industrial balance will come in a point release, since they went and made the itty 5 the only indy worth flying with this expansion. I recall one of the devs (probably Ytterbium) stating that industrials will get the same treatment as the barges: 1 fast, 1 tough, one big. And I suspect the big one might become a mini freighter that we've all been clamouring for (100k+ capacity), possibly combined with the orca losing its cargo bay and gaining more of an ore bay. Just a thought Smile
