What is this Burn Eden Raven that was referred to several times in SCL 3? Obviously I cant find much on ship type, so I doubt that its actually a raven hull. Is it a type of flying tactic? Someone please explain. Thank you

Also on sisi the SNI still has a 5% resist bonus, is this intentional or a glitch?

Burn Eden used to run a tactic called cavalry ravens. Ravens used to be pretty imbalanced and not only did they have godlike tanks their missiles hit everything for full DPS no matter how small or quick it was. I think the Burn Eden fit may have used some ewar in the midslots. Jams worked a lot different back then, and damps might have been a little stronger also.

The strategy was to charge at the enemy firing missiles. The slow missiles would stack up with the Doppler effect and when they flew through their target it would take the full alpha of several volleys of missiles. Then the Ravens would turn under the cover of EWAR and charge again. Battles back then were a lot of 10v10 battles so small groups of Ravens would ravage entire regions and for a while they reigned supreme, mostly in the south iirc.

The way they were used in SCL 3 was not quite the same but they were certainly high velocity and returned to prominence. With the cruise missile buffs they are beginning to resemble the Ravens of old and you may see them more and more on Tranquility after the next release. The pilot may have also been a Burn Eden pilot during the reign of the Raven.

Did you know Ravens used to be anti-support? And Scorpions too?

How on earth was a raven anti support? Missiles cant hit anything small. It sounds like I missed an interesting and entirely different game before I joined up.... Of course I mostly just carebear anyways, but do enjot watching these pvp tournies.

I could sit here and try to explain Burn Eden, but I think this will help better.

The reason cruise ravens and cruise scorpions used to be anti-support is because they did BS damage to every ship. So you would hit field and pretty much one volley frigates, **** cruisers, and clear support while your tempests dealt with the bigger crap. If you were in a Scorpion you were probably also busy cycle jamming 4+ enemy ships as jams worked a bit differently back then.

Another interesting factoid is that you used to be able to fit a cruise missile inside a light missile launcher. Kestrels used to be the old stealth bombers and you would use small numbers of them to completely decimate haulers and frigate gangs. They were pretty imbalanced doing battleship DPS to all ships, large and small.

EVE has changed a lot.

EVE works in cycles. If you hang around long enough, you see the rise, prominence, and fall of ships and styles of play.

Case in point, I remember actually engaging one of these Burn Eden CNRs in a nanoZealot while on a roam... I was pushing about 5-6 km/s, he was doing a solid 10 km/s. Almost got him, though, while the rest of the gang was engaging elsewhere on-grid.

A Typhoon outrunning my 8 km/s interceptor and then proceeding to smartbomb me... that one annoyed me a bit more. P

Wow, Just wow...... these ravens will be viable again next month? But it doesn't have any tank, it should just die to any ship that can hit it right? And how fast will the new ravens be?

But cool videos.
