New launcher meaning no new login screen & music ? :'(

Everything is in the title, now that there is no login screen, does that mean that we won't have new login music and screen at each expansion ??

Yes. But not necessarily in Odyssey, since new launcher still in beta and it will be safer to make another login screen while things still in testing.

I hope they beef the character selection screen to look something like this when they roll the new launcher out to Tranquility. It would be really cool if our avatars animated in that screen and whatnot. You know, like a lot of other MMOs out there. Blink

It would make up for the loss of the login screen.

The new launcher isnt getting rid of the login screen. The new launcher is in fact extremely bad for those with multiple accounts as you can only have one instance of the launcher running.

I am wholeheartedly against this change.

I'd suggest that, In the future, make it so that you can choose whether you want to head to your character list directly with your launcher, or you can login with your launcher, get the login screen(which probably wouldn't be a login screen anymore and more of a screensaver), then to your character selection.

More options the better. Or, different ''flows'' for everyone.

That is pretty nice, would love a character selection screen like this. Actually dust has a pretty nice character selection screen, sort of like this one, so hopefully something better for eve isn't far out.

That character selection screen looks amazing. Seriously. Why don't we have it yet?

If you're driven to threaten others with harm or violence because of what they do in game, you can't separate fantasy from reality. That "griefer/thief" is probably more sane than you are. How screwed up is that?

Nice.

Actually, I'd say it could do with even less. The web links are already on the launcher, they don't need to be shown again in character selection. Keep it light and fast loading, with subtle animation to enhance the image, coupled with login music, and we'll have a new character-spinning activity for EVE.
