That's not an issue, actually, as long as the song goes...

March....Jason Vorhees
April....Pat Robertson

You get my drift...

i think alice was alluding to making the calendar that is produced out of this photoshop project into a real calendar. not real life pics. lol. though i must admit to being entertained by that idea ahaha

Don't tell the rains, but the more i look at it, the less natural looks the crotch area, looks like it's too tight. See what I mean, the trousers' crotch is well away from hers. What?

You ever thought about maybe trying for an artist job at CCP?

I considered attending art school. it does wonders for someone with that spark--but I've decided to pursue mechanical engineering and keep art as a secondary skill and hobby. currently I lack a lot of art theory and industry-specific knowledge to work as an artist professionally.

to consider it anyway, like other types of work, I imagine it would associate stress with something I love. I would rather not turn something I love into "work"

circa 2009, EVE's art had me worried, but with the look and utility of Carbon, it can outpace anything I do. I might be capable as a "skinner" but I know a lot of them, too, who are more qualified than me.

plus I'm not Icelandic.

the main difference between this calendar and general CCP work is... these are my girls, and your characters, and they have names I know and I can clearly imagine your enjoyment in having these images.

if I did work like this and saw a lack of appreciation from the people I did it for (on the forums and elsewhere), I would probably lash out somehow and get reprimanded. Big smile

I agree with you. it bothers me too. I'll make another pass over the lot, at the end, and fix that crotch. it should look like this. the right leg is also not natural-looking. the problem with staring at one piece for too long is, you become blind and complacent to it. I refer to it as "my eyes are ******"

I'm about to call it "good" with the Rains, to continue on to August/Graygor. again, to make another pass at the end.

PRINT: sites like redbubble require calendar pages in 2182x1906 . that happens to be the resolution I'm working in. take a look at the layouts--it looks like you get to choose the date layout.

if you're printing these for personal use, I don't think anyone can stop you. legally speaking

if you have a glossy printer/want to print it yourself, I can rearrange the date blocks to below the characters, so you can do a vertical print. not sure how well the conversion from 72dpi to 300 would go, but as long as you maintain aspect ratio when printing, I think the end result will be pretty good. I could also remove the dark backdrop to save ink and make your characters "pop." the dark backgrounds are in consideration of computer monitors, and to spare the eyes.

pixel-for-pixel, 72dpi to 300dpi is this. I'll have to attempt it to see how it will turn out--I have zero experience in print.

keep in mind, print is a segment of artistic skill in itself--I don't assume I can pick it up in a day. I just think it will turn out decent. RGB to CMYK, and all that... I've only heard a handful of tips, but I know print is something completely different. (respect to any print artists out there!)

the space bar I imagine is best implemented as a POS module :-) WiS (Walking in Station) is a name that has kept people from thinking outside the box station

That's a common issue. Dunno what may be its name, but I bear it in mind when making a new portrait -they must pass the "next morning test" before I call them ready. It has saved me some embarrassment because really after dealing with the same image for an hour, it completely losses its meaning and everything can go. I keep a few of the first portraits I did for Ish to remind me what this "blindness" can do.

And actually, the first Indah I made was something taken straight from a nightmare... and yet I applied to the "avatar face off" site, quite proud of my "accomplishment". Also my first Yiole looked like a hamster, but it took a while until I noticed. A LONG while... Lol

Well, it should had done it, but I went with the Gallente station both for storytelling reasons (The Greater Fool daycare, the former Sexy-Nine now becoming the TGFB backrooms...) and because of CCP. I don't feel like playing by their rules if they don't oblige the same. So without WiS constraints, I feel free to create a parallel universe between New Eden and reality and have some fun for a change, away from the "grim universe, yadda yadda" lore. If even in a written form, I take CCP's reality and replace it with mine... Lol

I get the feeling Eevee might not want to have her avatar included. IF she is set on not being in the calendar, I can put you in with Shalua Rui in October (Eevee's spot). that's up to her. otherwise, I'm burdened a little on the heavy side to take on more characters. maybe you could give Eevee ISK and buy her out Big smile

also: Graygor and Random McNally... those two have unique themes, and I can't work anyone into those and have it make sense

in other news, Photoshop crashed and I lost 2 hours of work. I made it to the rough lighting stage, and all I could save was this screenshot. my computer is telling me it's time to move on to August/Graygor. and also set the shortcut to open as administrator (without admin rights, the auto-saves never happened, I think.)

I know exactly how to redo it, so it's not so bad. it could have been worse

How comes there is so few appreciation for EeVees Tuna-riding-nude-space-pilot? Or the cephalopode memorial picture?
That's among the most awesome stuff I have ever seen on the internet!

And Brokeback-Mountain-Micheal-Dietrich needs to be in this calendar, too.

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

oh yeah! i forgot to take the screen. totally slipped my mind lol. i'll get it to you probably tomorrow after work. i'm interested to see what you do with it. i'll leave it totally in your hands. i take back my seafood stipulation. lol i've already spent enough time in the nude with ocean friends for the cause of bringing awareness to the overfishing epidemic.
