Eve Mentat is, strictly, against the EULA, if you use the cache scraping feature of it. This is in accordance with the statement made by the security team. That is has always been against the EULA.

However, we've had the security team state that unless you are doing something else to break the EULA, you have nothing to worry about.

By something else to break the EULA do you mean like rmt?

Seems like a bit of a grey area :X

From my understanding of what they've said, its kind of a grey area. Its not unlike speeding. They reserve the right to monitor your cache scraping to observe if you are using it nefariously. Kind of like if people are abusing the speed limit and flying by others, if you are cache scraping to manipulate price data, CCP will use their findings to shut you down.

If you are cache scraping to feed the data to a market bot, the bot will get you banned.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

Bots, or, intertwined cache scrapping tools with... Other non human assistance where simply abusing this game feature.

I can assure you, its very annoying with market PVP this tactic is used to "Grief" that or just outright bot.

All it takes is a half a handful of bad eggs to ruin a feature for tens of thousands.

You don't want the hassle of even a false positive detection.
