After reading everywhere that EVE has a fantastic economy, one of the best in all MMO's, a great in-depth crafting system and basically a do-whatever-you-want-in-this-massice-sandbox style, i decided to try it out.

I downloaded the game and quickly randomized this caracter so i can post on the forums, i will start my serious one later.
If anyone could give me a buddy invite, i will be thankfull! if i like the game after the 21 days, which i will most definately will, i will probably buy a month of it, after that ill see how it goes.

I want to be a Trader, and after spending the whole evening reading guides, information and forums, i want to play EVE even more :D
But i have a few questions:
- What race should i pick?
- After reading http://www.eveonlinetrading.com/ they said i should start at either Rens, Amarr, Hek or Doxidie, where should i start?
- Does anyone want to be my mentor/tutor and add me to his friendslist, so he can guide me? I live in GMT +1 and can play about 1-2 hours on normal days, more on weekends.
- What is a good starter trading-vessel?

Thanks for your help!
And please send me a 21 day invite, i will probably buy after that! :)

The only difference between the races is the racial frigate and weapon skills you start with and where in the galaxy you start.

As for buddy invites, check the sticky thread at the top of the forum.

There is a sticky at the top of this forum full of people offering Buddy Invites Cool

That guide contains all the information you need to get started in trading except for guidance of what to actually buy. The basics of making money in trading are as follows: only buy stuff that you can sell for a profit, ten one percent sales today are better than a ten percent sale of the same item today, and never haul stuff worth more than the ships required to blow up your hauler.

Rather than listing the tomezone in which you live, perhaps indicate the usual EVE times during which you play.

A friend of mine started station trading and speculative hauling with the catalyst that her character was gifted in the career advancement missions, later started using an iteron, then an orca, then an obelisk. As the guide that you linked says, you can start trading with 1M ISK: my friend started with a few million ISK from the career advancement mission, and her first trades involved liquidating the material rewards from those very missions. Just the career advancement missions alone earned my friend her first 10M ISK. I do speculative hauling in a buzzard or prorator, depending on which character I am using and how big the cargo is. You might have more fun contracting your hauling though courier contracts. A rookie trader with a few tens of thousands of ISK might start speculating with items that can be carried in a shuttle.

I will say this though: Marketing, Procurement, Day Trading and Visibility will be more useful at the beginning of your trading career than Retail, Wholesale and Tycoon. Move to higher value trades rather than spending your time updating 250 individual orders.

you shouldve first find a mentor , and after tell him you want his "invite" he would been more then happy to help you , also that wouldve paid for his time with you , so if he accepted to help for free , giving him a bonus would only make him happier .

Now that you mentioned about the invite people will say they will help you and so on cos you pottentially are worth 500million ISK . (buddy invite reward)
So : just be carefull on what youre doing , EVE is harsh full of selfish people and so on dont get fooled .
(1 lesson , never trust anyone)

I am offering myself to answer some questions and give some tip's and help you if you need , for free of course ;)

buy high sell low.

Speculation is where the big money can really be made, for this you need a fairly deep understanding of the state of the game generally, and what is likely to be changed in the future, how and what effect that will have on the market.

Otherwise be prepared to spend a lot of time 0.01 adjusting buy order and other painstaking crap.

As far as a mentor goes, some people will answer some questions for you but don't expect them to tell you what to trade.

what to trade apart usual answer : ammo , wont get you much .
Tho buying low sell high , not even 0.01 isk war just leave it there for days counting on price spikes and fall's .
Hauling ! inter region hauling and selling stuff in far regions and mission hubs .

A bit of manufacturing wont hurt to understand what and where is going , wouldnt go into speculation to much competition ... Frigate prices are still bellow production cost due to HUGE amount of them stockpilled by traders ...

etc etc
