Im new to the game after 2.5 years being away. The rattlesnake looks incredible and was hoping someone could show me what a good wh pve build looks like and how to use it.

Im thinking drop sentry drones then rush the ai to act as a tank. Keep aggro off the sentries. Would this work?

If you want to use sentries you shouldn't leave them behind, since you need to be within 2500m to pull them back to drone bay. And for wormholes, you can't really manage the aggro. Sleepers really hate drones.

will the sentries be able to track the sleepers or should i stay away from sentries for WH sleeper killing?

what would be a good WH PVE rattlesnake build?

Drop = Deploy

At range, yes... Sentry drones will be able to track the Sleepers. Up close is a different story.

Always stay within 2500m of your Sentry drones when doing PvE stuff. You want to be able to pull in the Sentries when they gain aggro.

What class WH?
Solo/group?
Which sites? Combat/radar/mag/etc.

If you're unfamiliar with PVE content in general, and WHs specifically, you might want to just do some level 4s in high sec. You're going to want to know what you're doing before jumping into WHs.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

Always stay near your sentries so you can pull them in when you take aggro, also, take note that some sleeper BS orbit very far away and you need to make sure your sentries can reach that far or bring longer range Sentries (Bouncers/Curators) to deal with it.

Try to pop as much of the smaller stuff on the approach as you can, when they get under your sentry tracking deal with the larger targets as long as your tank can handle it, then switch to combat drones to clean up the close orbiting rats.

Im trying to plan my skills and when to remap attributes. I wont go into the WH until Im confident of not losing my ships. I remember PVE content from 3 years ago when i played eve for a bit. Ive got basic understanding of WH and when Im ready to make the jump there are people that will help me. To answer your questions

WH 3 or even 4 if I can cut it
solo
I have no preferance for sites. Any information you give for which sites are best, which you prefer, how youd build for each one is fine.

Just a couple of questions about the details of this.

When you say pop thee smaller stuff on the approach. Thats pop them with my sentries deployed right? So Im basically stationary near my sentries and just hitting as much of hte small stuff as I can before they reach me

When you say deal with the larger targets as long as my tank can handle it. When my tank cant handle it anymore I warp out? Because whats the other option when my tank cant handle it anymore. Because you say THEN switch to combat drones to clean up the close orbiting rats.

Why wait for then instead of immediatley release the combat drones?

I think the idea is that if you engage at long range first, the rats will come towards you with low enough transverse velocity that long-range sentries will be able to track and hit them. Once smaller ships start orbiting, long-range sentries won't be able to keep up; depending on the triggers, you'll have to decide between concentrating on heavier targets to reduce DPS or recalling your sentries in favor of lighter drones to clear away the lighter targets.

I haven't flown the Rattlesnake or done wormhole diving, but my experience running Level 4's in a Gila indicates that putting a remote repper on a drone may cause rats to switch targets from your drones to your ship - they work off a threat table of sorts, and I think logi ships rank higher than drones.

Actually I mistakenly said if your tank can handle it because thats under the assumption that there are scramblers, in which case if your tank is failing you should take out all the scramblers first so you can warp out, however there are no scramblers in C3s, there are in C4s though so if that's the case you'd need that advice, however C4s aren't really soloable as you'd need a massive amount of tank which compromises dps which makes you take ages to do it, so you'd be better off just smashing a bunch of C3s. Here's how I'd fit it though I've never used a Rattler in C3s this has plenty of dps and tank to handle anything C3 anoms can throw at you.
