Is it me, or has Eve been very unstable, connection wise, since Dust launched? I am getting lots of socket closed errors recently - a problem I was hoping was behind me.

Very simply, the issue lies completely outwith CCP's control - it's either your ISP or some other infrastructure between you and TQ. Once CCP has identified the culprit, they can complain / ask nicely for the issue to be fixed, but that's about it.

Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Sometimes when I post, I look at my sig and wish that I'd follow my own god damned advice.

I'm on Sky Broadband. Not an uncommon ISP.

Wish I knew some way to identify the problem. CCP can't help. Sky can't help. No one can.

Something weird is happening. I have two or three clients open on the same machine. One has been getting bumped more frequently recently. The other stays connected. Not sure if that is ISP related?

Dust has its own cluster of servers handling the proccesing.
Even though EVE and Dust are connected, they are not sharing processing power.
They're of equal strength BTW

A weird note:
They have a third unused cluster of equal strength.
Some people say its for the PS4 version of Dust514 coming Soon(tm)
I think its for WoD.

Virgin Media have been dropping the ball all day today as well then ... if as you say it's ISP related.

5 disconnects within a 2 hour timeframe.

Wouldn't be the first time. A very large percentage of UK people who suffer random disconnects are on Virgin media.

Follow step 8. If the latency is occurring on your ISP's end, save the info from running step 8, call your ISP's tech support, and ram the log down the support service dude's throat the minute he tries to shift blame.

vivox runs EVE Voice and the connection to their stuff isn't related to how your EVE client connects to the EVE cluster.

Wait... what? I've read this twice now and it makes even less sense.

Now, more than ever, we need a dislike button.
