Enlisting in Factional Warfare as individual/corporation under a non-FW corp/alliance

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, or if this is just not possible. I'm trying to join a corporation that is enlisted in Factional Warfare, but I'm trying to remain part of an alliance that is non factional warfare. The error received is that the current alliance is part of a different faction than yours, but i don't think any of the sister corps are even enlisted in any FW. Is there a workaround for this? As you cannot enlist into an alliance while in FW, and you can't enter Faction Warfare as a Corp while within a non-fw alliance. Thanks for any help.

I believe either the complete alliance needs to be in faction warfore or noone. It's not possible to have 1 corp in faction warfare while the other corp in the alliance isn't.

This is sadly true I was hoping it was not an intended feature, as I believe this limits the potential growth of FW across the entire board. For example, Exodus. suffered from a huge open wound where it bled out many of its corporations when they enlisted. They were a fun and tough fight. It was one of the only times i've seen State hit tier 4 in the warzone. Oh well. I can see how an individual would be troublesome to have by himself, but a corporation should be able to join under a non-FW Alliance. Maybe i'm wrong. I know having it this way almost creates a very tight-knit bond between the FW alliances. We shall see. Thanks.
