Hey all,

I like doing pve and love fighting with drones, can anyone suggest a good ship for a new person so I can do low skill training but still be effective and have fun fighting with drones on my side?

What class of ship are you looking for. Gallante has the best drone ships vexor, myrmadon, Dominix. Then Amarr I think the arbitrator, and prophacy but been a Long time since I flex them for that purpose.

Always willing to help all you have to do is ask, though if you're in the other fleet I may not help the way you want. Just a heads up. Pub Channel: Lost Souls Trading Post

Tristan is a frigate-class drone platform which you can almost perfect in a week or two.

For subcapital drone ships you have 2 racial ship lines and 1 pirate ship line to choose from.

Gallente: Tristan > Ishkur (Tech 2) > Algos > Vexor > Vexor Navy Issue (Faction) > Ishtar (Tech 2) > Myrmidon > Dominix > Sin (Tech 2)
Amarr: Crucifier > Sentinel (Tech 2) > Dragoon > Arbitrator > Curse/Pilgrim (Tech 2) > Prophecy > Armageddon
Guristas (Pirate): Worm > Gila > Rattlesnake

The Gallente ship line tends to focus more heavily on damage while the Amarr ship line favors Electronic Warfare (the exception being the Prophecy which favors tanking damage).
The pirate Gurista ship line is focused favors tanking damage in addition to drones. Be aware that it takes a lot of skills to use this ship line effectively.

For pve in drones you should aim at flying a dominix

So Tristan > Algos > Vexor > Myrmidon > dominix.

If you like drones you should go with Gallente. Tristan > Algos > Vexor > Myrmidon > dominix like Garviel Tarrant said. Also Gallente captials are awsome.

You m ay want to wait till after the next expansion as next month BS are getting revamped so common fits may change a bit.

I like Drones as well, but since the Gallente ships can't mount missiles (my weapon of choice) I've decided to go Breacher->Bellicose->Cyclone (and then maybe Typhoon?), a bit unconventional, but it seems to be working fairly well thus far

Sometimes I wonder if I should've gone with the Amarr droneboat line instead, but I think on the whole I'd rather have a Drone Missileboat than a Missile Droneboat (if that makes any sense)

Well the way some Amarr drone boats are you can put missiles on some but it's limited on choices and I've heard that fitting them the ship bonuses are limited.

Both the Tristan and Algos are fun low end drone boats that can be trained into very quickly.

If you don't mind paying a little bit of extra money and training a few extra skills then look into the pirate Gurista ship line. They use missiles and drones as weapons (with emphasis on drones).
These ships require that you train both Caldari and Gallente ship skills.

I have a Navy Vexor that I very much like as a drone boat for level 2 missions.

I own 2 Gilas and 2 Rattlesnakes too, but they require both Gallente and Caldari skills, and they are better for sentries.

That article I linked is for all 4 of the newer destroyers. The stats for all 4 are listed in the article and under the pic - which changes to whichever of the 4 Destroyers you select - are the names of the 4 newer destroyers that change the pic to the Destroyer selected. Did I mention the pic changes to the selected ship? It has the Dragoon pic as it's default start pic, but the article is about all 4, not just the Dragoon. All 4.
You may apologise now.

Navi domi is superior to the Rattler

Rattler is way overtanked and the domi has way more dps.

Tbh Drones are generally in a bit of a ****** position for PVE because of the way NPCs switch aggro to drones.

Work towards getting yourself sentry drones and as has been said before the dominix is an excellent option for that.

coming up through the ship classes make sure you have a secondary dmg source, as until your in a ship that fields sentries you'll probably find you lose drones here and there
