I think I been had or just victim of high sec random killing

I was in Jita with an alt, and figured I would transport some implants for a customer since I had to head back to Rens. Should be easy all jumps are >.5 Im not at war with anyone, and new / returning player.

Collateral was high 800 mil, I took out two plex figuring I could take this cargo with me and make an easy 4 mil. Well 10 jumps away and yes I was autopilot but was watching the whole time, I was working on the other screen. Any case two characters just targeted and killed me in few hits. Well not sure what to say, I asked them why what where they after, I mean out of all the transports why mine. It does not make sense their Sec status is >0 around 5 before this. I ask why what could you have possibly gained from this, they said don't fly with autopilot in high sec.

Is this another scam of Jita to kill , if that is true then you can forget me becoming one, I just lost 800 mil because one jerk with 3 alt accounts.

After reading about crime and punishment. I not even sure this is the right place to post this. Seems backwards to me. Is there any justice for this kind of action?

Of course there is, but justice in EVE usually comes at a price.

I was thinking about demanding restitution from their corp if not I will get my money back by killing their miners in high sec or anywhere I come across them. But that might be taking it too far.

I would be very surprised if they had any miners, missioners, or any other form of carebears in their corporation.
This looks like a scam, and you just happened to be stupid enough to fall for it.

Maybe they just rat up their sec status in low/null so they can gank more idiots like you.

In any case yes hind sight is 20/20, any moron can make a mistake and call root cause after the fact. I said the beginning I'm new / returning, why is it when someone is seeking an answer or maybe a method of getting even, am I getting attacked. Is this really crime and punishment, blame the victim? It is your fault you stupid 12 year old for clicking on a link that some hacker placed up to steal your account, is this the message we send to everyone who comes here?

So, here's another problem: You're not really a victim here. You feel like one, you're acting like one, you're expecting us to treat you like one, but you're not really a "victim" any more than you would be if you had just lost a game of checkers, and comparing a little bit of fantasy-escapist violence to RL assault/****/theft isn't going to engender much sympathy.

In case you haven't figured it out yet, here's the deal.

Someone put up a courier contract with a high collateral, hoping that someone in an industrial would pick it up. Industrials are flimsy and very easy to kill, especially if they're untanked and on autopilot. These people watched you pick up the courier contract (they know your name), they had a scout at the station (they know what you are flying and where you are going), and they got in place and ganked you.

They are now 800 million isk richer.

Security status means very little in Eve; some of the most vile people in Eve have a high security status. Some of the nicest people have a low security status.

Occasional suicide ganking in high sec doesn't have a significant impact on it, since you can get it right back by running missions, etc. Soon it will be even easier to raise sec status with the Sec For Tags program.

I'm sorry that this happened to you but it does happen on a regular basis. In the future:
1. Do not carry a valuable load of any kind in a T1 industrial. They simply don't have survival capabilities.
2. Do not carry a valuable load and go on autopilot. This gives gankers an extra 15km to pop you as your ship limps to the gate.
3. If you want to accept a high collateral contract, accept the contract with one character, trade the package to a second for transport, trade it back, and complete. This keeps your method of transport anonymous.
4. For small courier contracts, use a covert transport. You can't shoot what you can't lock.

Other courier scams include:
1. Creating a courier contract that even a freighter cannot move due to the size.
2. Creating a courier contract to a lowsec/nullsec system with a gate camp ready.
3. Creating a courier contract to a sovereign nullsec system where you will have no docking rights.

Hope that helps.

Quick Edit: I wouldn't bother placing bounties on people. The ganker type loves bounties; it has no real mechanical effect on the game, and in their mind they've just scammed you out of more cash.

Is it something like "Oh, I'm sorry the bad people in EVE shot your ship. Here's all the ISK you lost and a free new ship. All the mercs in EVE are now going to hunt them forever!"?

OP doesn't specify the actual cargo value, or what ship he was flying.

Nothing here says anything about a scam. It was very likely a legit contract (implants can can be expensive) that the OP just flew in a ship that is too squishy.

Suicide ganking is about the numbers. They will assume a 50% drop of cargo, so if the cost of the gank ships is less they stand to gain from the attack.

Regardless of size, the only safe way to AP 800mil is a freighter. Even then you are at risk, but generally nobody is going to try and pop a freighter for profit with only 800mil.

Honestly I was making a long trip and figured I take something along to make money, as for the cargo yes level 5 implants 6 of them. In the kill report they where toasted. As for trolling I hope asking a question isn't trolling. Are people who generally just rage, and are hostel or complaining all the time. I am not complaining i see what I have done wrong, now how do I get even. Did i once complain about the game?

I was thinking it was legit too. It seems to me they only got away with some of those redeem shirts.

Well now I know what happen, my other part of the question how to get pay back?
