There's this thing out there now called Google.com, not sure if you've heard of it but it's awesome. You can totally type in something you want to find more information about and it will give you a list of relevant web sites. You should try it sometime.

Skill Training Planner

That looks like sound info. But I think the most important part of the question of Ciyrine is: are those links safe for download? Can others confirm that? That I also would like to know before I make any downloads. In short: no one wants to end up surprised later with some kind of "guess who have come to dinner on my harddisk (trojan horses, backdoors etc. etc. etc.....turn on the daily news for that one, I mean). Besides the above I trust everyone to have installed good firewalls and viruskillers...that is standard of course.

So, can any other experienced players confirm that the above url's links are safe for downlaoding?

You can find all of this information yourself.
Considering the massive amount of references to both EVEMon and EFT, you'd think the answer would be obvious.

Aside from CCP Devs directly showing their support for some of the above mods, in their threads, which in most cases have pages and pages of experienced players saying good thingsa bout them?

No. Noone else can provide the sort of assurances you seek, beyond what is already present.

As for Cyrine, she just needs to learn the appropriate forum section to look into. Tons of this information is made very readily available, though some people here were so nice as to drag out the info anyway.

As far as I know changing the in-game client interface is a breach of the EULA. Just so your aware.

Evemon, EveHQ, Eve Fitting Tool, EveRefinery and EveMentat, are all well worth looking at for out of game tools, they are safe to download and use, no nastiness will be installed along with them as they are player developed tools, as such any nasties would result in the player devs exploding repeatedly at the hands of their peers (us).

With reference to interface tweaks and other game mods, they are a big fat nope and will get you banned. The interface is tweakable to a certain extent using ingame tools, the main part you will want to tweak is the overview, for that I highly recommend the Eve Uni Overview Guide

addendum : learn to love spreadsheets, you'll find them indispensable if you decide to follow the industry/manufacturing path, they're also pretty good for keeping track of wallet transactions and the like.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.
