Hi - apologies if this is listed elsewhere - couldnt see it but I might be blind.

In the last few days (probably after a patch) whenever I boot up eve on my macbook (10.6.8 2.53 C2D, 4gb memory) I get a black screen with the eve mouse pointer.
When I hover over the areas where you would be typing in username and password etc - the pointer changes to the text input pointer - so it's like it's there - but I can't see it.
Any ideas? I'd like to avoid reinstalling if I can due to bandwidth issues so apologies for not trying that first. On my PC i would be checking graphics drivers etc but i've got no idea how much of this applies to macs lol.

Cheers - tried it but no luck - the issue isnt with eve starting - it starts but the screen is black with just the mouse pointer. All the stuff seems to be there though as I managed to find the password box and log in, just still couldnt see anything

Yeah, I noticed that, but according to the wiki their advice was to put a bug report in. So I thought this would be worth a crack anyway.

anyone else got this issue? Guess I will have to reinstall and take the bandwidth hit

This happened to me yesterday. I had been playing just fine, then yesterday I clicked on "load station environment" in the settings screen and have been having this issue ever since. I re-installed it and now am working my way through the wiki to see if it fixes it.

I would turn off the station environment but I can't even get to the settings screen. If anyone knows how to fix this please help.

Fixed it. The only thing from the wiki that worked for me was this:


2. Uninstall the client, delete the EVE Online Preferences folder for it from /Users/username/Library/Application support/
Then download the latest full version of the client from: http://community.eveonline.com/download/ and install. This is a bit more severe fix for the issue but hopefully will only be needed under severe client corruption circumstances.
