Actually it's not in UK time, it's UTC (Coordinated Universal Time), if it were UK time then it would change time for the rest of the world when we get to what is laughingly called our British Summer Time where the clocks go forward an hour.

I thought UTC was the new GMT also known as Zulu from the time when Britain was the center of the world.

1) "Reimrubsement" - You accept when you subscribe to eve online that there are downtimes, specifically regular maintenance (along with other downtimes), you deserve, nor are eligible for any reimbursement, just like I'm home today and can't play either. Stop being entitled, you're making other gamers look bad.

2) The maintenance are done when CCP are in their office, this isn't some automated windows update reboot, they need their technicians and developers on-site, to deploy hotfixes, server code updates, ensure things go smoothly and work, this means doing it during business hours at their timezone (Iceland).

If you wanted them to rotate the maintenance, which means having staff work shifts (developer jobs are hard enough and have enough crunch as it is, let alone scheduling people for night-shifts too), then you need to recruit even more staff, which costs even more money.

So what how is CCP going to reimburse those of us who play during the AU/NZ prime time???

most people get home have dinner and then jump online to play only to be online for a hour or so and then DT comes Oops. mid way though a battle!!! mining op what ever your doing its interrupted.

Personally i feel those of us who live in au/nz time zone should be entitled to a discount on our subscription costs.
I wouldnt say no to a plex in my hanger every once in a while....

Please enlighten us on how you plan to run mining ops when the asteroid fields are almost empty, which they tend to be right before downtime?

If you play a European game, expect European timezone.

Based on the average downtime of 30 minutes per day playtime less than the rest of the world I can confirm that CCP would be happy to refund you 22c per month for this inconvinience.

Alternatively, you can accept the generous donation of 1 PLEX every 4 years. (or 45 months actually).

That is, of course, providing you haven't biomassed your character due to the shear boredom of playing when no one else does.

This. Yes it sucks to have DT during prime playing time, normally it's only 10mins any way! Just because they had a bad day doesn't mean you can have discounts.

i've noticed DT is nicely placed for me to make lunch if i were in the uk, which i am, so i do.
and if i'm not mistaken it's nicely placed for you people in the prison colony to make dinner, so you should.

From CSM result's blog:
Quote:
Australia: % of subscribers = 3.71%

Sorry but % just insignificant to take it into account when deciding optimal DT time when PCU is minimal.

I don't know where you mine but I was mining arkonor and bistot before DT.. ya just gotta go to the right places

But i think OP is an idiot for not docking for dt.. they give you plenty warning, and if you didnt heed it its your own loss.

Well that's not actually true, at least for part of the year at which time we're out of sync with EVE as we're operating at that time in BST.

I think the reason DT is when it is, is the fact that it will give them time to prepare, implement and sort any problems out all in the same day.

Why it took till page 2 for someone to post the obvious is always surprising.

Wut - 12 o'clock midday is the time of day you should be at work and/or school. It's definitely not peak in the UK..

Good point, they also benefit from extra DT when patches occur.

Knew it was time for another one of these poor AU/NZ threads again. It could be worse OP... could be like it was when they took a full hour to do what usually only takes minutes to do now.
