Eve launches but launcher doesn't validate client.

I had to restore Windows 7. It had been a while since I did a backup. When I went looking for the newest version of eve on my computer, something "happened" because the version of eve I started was old, and some dialog boxes had something to say about it, I just closed them instead of reading the dialog boxes.

I ran repair tool. That worked. The launcher however seems to be "stuck". The launcher won't validate client at all.

Is there a way to repair launcher?

I filed a bug report. I was hoping somebody else might know of a way to "free up" the launcher.
