It's no big deal for players who can afford to lose isk. You can't so much with a million isk and a head with no implants.


Flying around with millions of isk in your pod, it's like flying a shuttle full of plex in faction warfare.

All the pvp fools are saying "go ahead fly, don't be scared" which really means "yeah more awesome LEET kills"

It has not changed, you won't be able to get back to RMS.

But then, you are 8 month old - it really isn't that long (or hard) to get to 8.0 standing with one corp. E.g. you can easily get 8.0 with RMS in less than a month, just create an alt account and rerun the tutorials a couple of times while being fleeted.

And then, there are several people offering free Rorqual clones - no standing required.

Finally, you should not put in your head what you cannot afford to lose. If you put 5's in your head, either have another 500 millions lying around or be ready to buy another PLEX when you get podded. If that's a big deal for you then you should not be flying with them. (And you can get podded in high-sec also.)




Well don't go by the birth date, you could knock two months off of that as I didn't sub for two months whilst out of the country, didn't have long enough skills to train at the time.

I know had more than 8.0 on other characters in the past.

My circumstances are such that I can afford to lose what I wear and fly, but as usual I'm not just thinking about me in my present circumstances. I'm not a, I'm all right, tough luck mate type of person.

But I do remember years back when implants did stop me doing a lot of things, mainly because when you're newish there's so much to train and a lot of the early content becomes boring really fast. That may have changed slightly with things like exploration/scanning but it's still a lot of skills you have to wade through to be able to do more useful and rewarding things. Hence you don't really want to part with those implants that cost quite a bit compared to your income. Of course we don't have learning skill books anymore which is a help, but even when they took those out I didn't think that was enough.

So yeah I really do think learning implants should go and should have gone when the learning skill books went. Maybe replace them with different types of implants that do not effect training.

4k SP? That guy is bitching about a grand loss of 4k SP????

Maybe trainable skills that up attributes? I think implants are the hinge pin for a lot of missioners LP though. It would absolutely destroy the markets and people would biomass.

Eh. Seriously, I've not seriously worried about ISK in years. I'm hardly space-rich - I think my main is under 1B ISK at the moment - But so what? ISK, like hulls, exists to be burned. Implants are mostly only a tool for getting into the next hull, or maybe expanding my ability to industrialize, or grant me a few more percentage points in some skill - In short, they also exist to burn.

The bottom line is this: Every resource in EVE exists to be used - to help me have more fun.

So - if something is preventing you from having fun, Burn It!

Your avatar kind of looks like the imp from game of thrones. The problem is that the implants are a huge hindrance to getting into pvp. Hulls are do exist to burn, implants not so much. The ship is an extension of your character. The implants and attributes are your character.

Yes. Granted, it adds up. But I gladly trade 4k SP a day to be doing exactly what I want to do, where I want to be doing it, without fear of losing a implant set that I can't replace on the fly.

I'm sure you're right, those it causes less of a problem to are the ones that would like to keep them after all it is an isk gravy train to a degree.

You should go ahead and make the jump OP. You should never get podded in lowsec. When your ship starts to blow up spam warp to a celestial. Pods warp instantly, and there are no bubbles in low to keep you from warping. You'll be fine.

Damn.. You play long enough to have +5 but never left the empire?
I think the problem lies in your mindset.

Soon you will realise that you are not gaining anything, and that you would have enjoyed your time in EVE much more if you had just let it go... Plug in some +3 and go have fun.

You can also stay in a clone without implants.. It's not a big difference in training time, unless you are on EVEmon planning for one year.


Also.. If you are not lagging, or have problems with your PC, it should be pretty safe to warp your pod out after a ship loss.
