Buy-Back system on SP?

How about a system where players can exchange AUR/Real cash to buy back SP at a flat rate for each month they did not renew there sub?

For example and 07 pilot took 6 months out and wants the lost SP back so he/she spends AUR/cash to to buy back the SP at the flat rate of there attributes. (taking either the highest or lowest combination into account)

I dont see this as directly selling SP for isk, its more of a case of allowing people to buy back game time they lost.
It shouldn't be too difficult to implement either as the system for refunding SP is already in place.

I welcome any comments you might have!

Well, I don't really see any problems with something like this. It would be as if they've played for all that time instead of not. *shrug* I see nothing wrong with it.

I see your logic in it, but no. To me it is still buying SP for money, for time you didn't earn. There should be a certain.. pain.. with learning skills. This would remove it completely.

was hoping with the new forums would come new ideas......leaving disappointed.

Eve doesn't need fotm changes. Don't like your hac after a patch buffs another one, buy back that racial cruiser 5, train new racila cruiser 5 and presto chango in a new hac. Bad way to do things.

Especially with aur. last thing we need is 0.0 alliance respecing after patch releases. Especially if they deliver on that super carrier nerf. Call me jaded, they all wnet bonkers for em when mommie wnet straight up op...they can live with that choice when they meet mr. nerf bat. No pity really, brought in on themselves. If they didn't do drive by in these things....they'd probably be less hated lol. Just like nano nerf.......took a legit need for it, and trashed it with wtf, serioulsy? fits.

In the end, its about ancouraging the kind of gameplay we want.

Think about how you will price this, and how you will calculate the SP gain.

If you make the buyback cost less then the subscription cost off that time, or make the SP buyback higher then the average players SP income, people will create accounts, let them cook unsubscribed for a year or two and then jump in and buy the SP all at once.

If you do the opposite, make it more expensive and/or get less SP, people will ***** and whine about it for years.

The former will badly affect susbcription numbers, since a lot of people train skills but rarely log in, the latter will create annoying whining.

I want neither of these things, how about you?

No.

It encourages people to re-spec themselves to FOTY (fit of the year[s]). I don't want to see more more homogenization of fleets and tactics.
