Eve Entrepreneur here with Eve Blackjack.

While you will never convince everyone, or possibly anyone in Eve that a Eve related business venture is not a scam, you have to do your best to try. In our case, I had an idea, and a friend helped me realize it and now we are partners.

But in order to realize this idea, people need to know that we aren't scamming them, and if we are, there will be a price to pay. From what i know of the gambling business model, and i know a fair bit living in louisiana, the 2nd most de-regulated gambling state in the USA, it is wise to be open about your profits and payouts. People don't necessarily care that you're fleecing them, but they do care if you are doing it lawfully.

In this premise i am not sure if publishing our records is enough, perhaps a 3rd party holding assets or isk to ensure that if we are scamming people, then we get little out of it, or perhaps some way to show how we generate our numbers to prove there is no handicap on the player or house advantage.

We are willing to do what we need to do and take the steps necessary to be as forthcoming and honest about this venture as possible, so that players can with sound mind play our blackjack game, and hopefully other games in the future that will work in the eve online browser.

I am anxious to hear opinions from MD on this matter. i would like to resolve this matter before i do any really elaborate advertising in-game, or sponsorships, or events promoting the site.

Players are going to be paying you small amounts up-front for a simple service that resolves fairly soon after they hand over their isk. Marketing and handing out free credits would be sufficient to bring in the early customers. If you provide a cheap and flawless service to those early customers then you'll have no problem. You can then grow to handling more isk without issue.

3rd parties aren't really suitable for what you are doing (unlike for lotteries) and a 3rd party cannot easily verify what has occured in the event of dispute, which makes resolving that dispute difficult. A 3rd party is unlikely to want to take on a job like that at all and certainly not for a price that is economically viable for a start-up.

Just do it. If you are good, they will come. If you are bad, they will leave. Taking on a 3rd party will be bad for you both in the short and long term.

If you want to protect your custormers I could hold some collateral equivalent to 1-2 times of the current average of players game and, in case of default, refund those who show up on your journal API.

You will have to make it known that players with payment issues will have to contact me to solve a dispute.

Since this looks like to be a prolonged work, there'd be a setup + recurring fee for you to pay.

Ouch. What about offering third party as an option? Most players wouldn't bother after the first round due to time delay (and possibly fee?) but it would make it easier to get off the ground.

oh, the 48 hour thing is an extreme unlikelyhood, payouts usually occur within minutes, however if someone in EU timezone (we don't have any staff online at that time usually), it usually takes up to 6 hours, 48 hours the absolute MAXIMUM foreseeable time it could POSSIBLY take.

I deserved a ban for account sharing, if that is a perma ban offense, then so be it, i made my bed.
