It isn't. It's meant to train utility chars, and that way MUCH cheaper (since we use utility chars only once in a while). A 2nd account means I have to keep paying for it to use; this utility char (cyno pilot, freighter, trader) is only needed a limited amount of time is is very convinient to have on an existing account. You pay 1 or 2 plexes and get a nice character to use once in a while.

For full characters you obviously just create a new account, but this new feature is not meant for that.

I hope this wasn't to encourage people to use a PLEX to train a scanning alt, of so CCP will be making good money from that then as I'm sure most don't realize with the change is scanning skills it only takes about 4 days to do what use to take over 2 weeks to do.

If you don't follow the rules, neither will I.

I'd probably plunk down for 30 days pretty much as soon as this feature becomes available. I'm not willing to commit to a separate long-term account plus the $20 transfer fee for an alt (done that once already), but I could definitely see doing bursts to get the alt into new skills'n'ships or training up a new FW or RVB alt. Heck, maybe I'd like it so much I'd end up spinning them out into a second full account.

I think this would be good for players and good for CCP's revenue stream.

You will always only be able to play ONE character per paid/subbed account... the alts are there to allow you to have to alternate personalities in the game, but you will not be able EVER to play them at the same time UNLESS you TRANSFER them to another paid account and then you can run them at the same time, and then you will have in the case of 2 accounts, 2 active toons and 4 possible alts, in the case of 3, you have 3 accounts, 3 active toons and 6 alts... with this you could train an additional alt while training you main... that is all this will ever be... that is why TRANSFERS exist... if you want to play both, you pay for it and transfer it, sub that new account and then you can play it at the same time.

CCP isn't going to change this, you will not have access to more than one toon at a time per paid account... this is a very nice option to train a passive alt while you train your main, it MIGHT go live, it MIGHT NOT... I wouldn't hold you breath on it, it could very easily upset the PLEX market, or the game as a whole, and it may well be they are simply seeing if the code works, for some future though of MAYBE putting it in the game... but I honestly doubt they will... at least without some major consideration, because once that is on TQ, it's not going to be something people will willingly give up if it goes arye... and then also I don't see it being that big a deal... most people might use it a few times to polish and alt in less time, but in the way of a massive change, I don't see it... most alts aren't that important to pay the fee imho...

People are more than aware that one one character at a time can be active on an account, your doing the player base a disservice as to the level of their intelligence. People are aware that CCP will never change this, again we are not stupid, well maybe a few %, but overall the player base is aware that its for that alt that's just lying there that you want to occasionally train up to do other stuff, and don´t want to stop that 45 day skill under way on the main.

It is a revenue generating few lines of code, even if uptake is not great, CCP gets more cash and as for the PLEX market, more demand is better both in and out of game, that is unless your worried that it will cost you more time to earn the ISK to pay for all of your accounts and you may lose one.

I think that's a nice to have feature, especially for single account people (like me). This way I would actually, for once have a reason to buy PLEX to push my business/market char.

will certainly make training cyno alts a bit less of a pain in the arse.

i'm all for it tbh.

as for going into multi active logins on one count, i very much doubt that would happen, it would be a nigthmare and probably need quite alot of work to make viable. for people that want to do that, 2 accounts is plainly better.
