With the new ice changes will CCP be adding different ice types to the re spawns. I mean, if in null but getting clear icicles,wouldn't it be great that on the 2nd or 3rd spawn of the belt there is at least 1 huge enormous massive thick blue..lol I joke, but it would be awesome. Would also make players want to clear out ice belts fast. A change of ice in system just for clearing a belt and getting new spawn how sweet

The change to the mechanics (disappearing belts, etc.) seems reasonable enough for non-botters, but the decrease in available ice seems poorly thought out. An 80% availability is basically a 20% decrease (because 100% of all game need is theoretically available in high sec now). 20% is a lot. Real world economic examples make a case to use a much smaller % decrease to achieve a competitive environment w/o demotivating people from playing. Single digit changes in fuel costs to r/l logistics companies are good case studies.

Jump fuel, pos costs, etc. all reflect significant prior investments in effort and real world $$$ spent playing to attain such rewards. The point being, starting with a smaller decrease, independent of the complexity in getting ice, will probably PREVENT CCP from losing subscription dollars. An arbitrary decrease w/o some basis in a *quantitative* analysis will have real world economic results.

Start wtih a 95% availability and monitor for change.

The new ice belt system makes the 20-50 ship multi-boxed ice mining fleets sort of useless. You will strip a belt in minutes, then have little to do for 4 hours.

If you are one of these players and you are planning on canceling some account as a result, note that when you cancel an account CCP gives you a opportunity to say why. Be sure to enter in your reason: "Ice belt changes".
