One thing to keep in mind is that what may look like a gate camp to you might very well just be a roaming gang waiting to jump to the next system.

I already addressed this point. Anyways my issue isn't that they're catching me but that I find their presence annoying. But I guess I shouldn't complain. At least there's more people in lowsec. I'll keep studying their behavior til I can find a way to strike out at them. I mean I live out there so I have a lot of time to watch them. And for those who don't understand why I call these guys bears...they actively avoid actual fights and risk. That is like the definition of care bear. Anywho I guess just lock thread. Maybe in a week I'll have some funny kill mails.

Perhaps to outside eyes they are gatecamps, but actually they are roaming gangs holding on a gate. I mean I've literally never heard of a stiletto in a gatecamp. Unless they're only firing on -10s or something.
Not everything is always as it seems.

Edit: just noticed the above post.

Why don't you assemble a fleet of like minded people and take the fight to these campers then if you want to destroy them so much? Could be fun for both sides.

Then 99% of the game are "carebears" and the definition loses all meaning.

I can change the definition of words too, like "pumpkin" now means banana, but then I'll look like an idiot too.

Already working on it... heh heh

And of course they're care bears. They take less risk than fw farmers or ninja gankers. They're as active as an ice miner. I realize traditional care bear definition is pve, but I have more respect for people who run ventures in lowsec than these guys. I full well realize its my own perception, but they're lower than ice miners to me. Lol

E: Also, no cloaky fags farming in cov ops either because low-sec is only for industrials idiotically blundering into gate camps and gate campers.

NOOOOO YOU ARE TO DIE IN MY CAMP!!! MY STATS!!!! BECAUSE OF WCS!!! NERF HIGHSEC!!!1!!! MARSHA MARSHA MARSHA!! ALL CAPS!!!

Wait, we can use bombs in lowsec?

Hmmmmmmm

Once, in a gate camp, some noobs got popped and were getting ready to ragequit in the NPC corp chat. So I gave them some cruisers and took them back to the system and we.... lost horribly to the same people but a good time was had by all.

They didn't quit. One of them contacted the "pirate" and got some advice for PVP and some ISK too. The other went on to become a goon last I checked (yeah that's not the best ending to the story perhaps but maybe the overall point is taken).

As much as I hate camps, and would even agree with the OP that gate campers are lower than miners - and they are bears too because not only will they run from a real fight, I've had them run from a 5 to 1 (their advantage) because each one individually feared being "the lossmail" in the engagement. This kind of stat-hugging is as bad as miners ISK-snatching.

Wtf is going on here? Where are these people coming from? How in the world is this profitable or fun for them? When I'm out getting some decent solo fights these guys are just manning these camps 24/7 and not even catching a fraction of their targets.

Maybe they're pirates looking for extremely valuable kills, and not braindead gategankers that shoot everything that moves?

I like campers. They don't ask for much and they provide challenge and entertainment. I bet CCP likes them to. Maybe the jump in radius should be reduced to 10000 since mwd/cloak is too effective. And all the empires be separated by lowsec strips.

Well, at least you got one out of four right. A significant improvement for CCP if I may say so myself.

I wrote some true EVE stories! And no, they're not of the generic "my 0.0 alliance had lots of 0.0 fleets and took a lot of 0.0 space" sort. Check them out here:

Talking about gatecamps, how well does hopping 100km away with a microjumpdrive and then warping off work against gatecamps?

I actually read this whole thread.....and I don't like OP. if you head to 4chan they always call this type of OP a . . .

I'm one of those carebears that just recently started pvp, and yes we sit on gates for various reasons. But it's never officially a "gate camp"

Yup... that made my day

On another note, come down to Black Rise for a day or two. We'll make you welcome while you stay! Cool

And have you trained your targeting skills like a good boy? All the weaponry and ship skills mean jack if you can't lock a big slow ship before it warps away P

Let me put it this way: when I see stupid players, I want to destroy them. I target miners for this reason, but miners are not armed. Its time to do something a bit more challenging. I regard these players as an enemy to eve due to their stupidity, but if I want to strike back at them I need to understand them.

So you need help from us to strike back at them for slighting you in some way by being stupid?
