Greetings fellow traders,

In light of recent accusations against the Bulk Trade mailing list there seems to be a need for another mailing list providing similar service as the "Bulk Trade" mailing list.

There are three rules for this mailing list:

  1. No obvious attempts to scam people (play nice!)

  2. No chatting / social mails in the list, only for sales / buys

  3. There is no rule number 3.

If you like this initiative or just want an alternative to "Bulk Trade":

Join "Massive Bulk Trade" mailing list today

I promise not to extort people for the use of this product, it's free, open to all, play nice and it will stay that way.

How to use this channel:

1. Open mail window
2. Press the "Add mailing list" button
3. Type "Massive Bulk Trade"
4. Press "Join" button

At this point you will receive mails from the mailing list as they come. In order to send your own offers to the mailing list you just right click the newly created mailing list from the mail interface and select "Send to mailing list". Including WTS or WTB in the topic along with some information of what your are buying or selling is recommended but not required.

i agree it is time for another mailing list as bulk trade seems to come out with the ban hammer and a few to rejoin when he feels like making a few more isk !

The massive bulk trade mailing list is a free place for any trader or manufacturer to post offer for bulk purchases. Basically say you made 1000 rifters and dont want to wait for them to sell in jita. You send a mail offering to sell for 10% below jita (or something like that) given that someone buys all 1000 rifters. So a market channel for bulk trading...

The original bulk trade list is: http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Bulk_Trade_%28Mailing_list%29

Some people have problems with the way it is run. Like the OP.

If you're banned, at least nominally for breaking the rules of the list, you can only rejoin by paying a fee to the people that manage the list.

Anybody have any evidence, or at least anecdotes, of a significantly sketchy rules-breaking accusation on the Bulk Trade mailing list? I admit I've heard bad things too, but nothing substantiative. Does this actually happen or is it just the venting of frustrated rule-breakers?

Sick and tired of the Bulk Trade owner doing shakedowns on people who move more than a couple bil, so count me in.

Please do make a and enforce a template mail though to keep things neat.

Also make it a rule to reply to your original mail with "sold" after a deal is closed, keeps things clean.

i have been buying and selling on Bulk Trade for a while. From my point of view it looks like this: the rules about what and how to post are relatively strict, but only sporadically enforced. this means that people sometimes slack off or even forget to follow the rules to the letter. so when the owner of the list suddenly decides to make an example of someone, it is viewed as oppression or a racket or whatever.

I should buy an Ishtar.

No evidence either way, but there's another issue - they ban people from the list that are involved in what they consider immoral gameplay even if it happens nowhere near the bulk trade list.

I sometimes post scam contracts (particularly courier scams when a highsec to highsec route is much more dangerous than usual for a short time). For this reason I'm banned from the Bulk Trades list despite having no intention of using the list for anything other than honest dealing.

I think the problem is that the rules are so labyrinthine, and the process of being reinstated to the list so convoluted, that even if it's not a racket, it's not worth troubling yourself to deal with the mess. If you're posting stuff there and not having any trouble from the admin, then that's great. Keep at it, it's an effective tool. But if you get booted off, for whatever reason, everything that's horrid about the list is immediately revealed. I think it's pretty clear, at the very least, that even if it's not purposely a racket (i.e. violations being made up out of thin air), the rules are constructed such that it's very easy to violate one or another in the ordinary course of things. The list owner knows this very well, and I think pretty clearly takes advantage of it to get a payday here and there.

That sounds lousy.

If something like that was used against me to push me off of a service I'd had a long-standing history of legitimate business with I'd be admittedly frustrated.

Of course, I accept that immoral gameplay has consequences, but I also trust that people can demonstrate the acumen to reason that when I'm keeping my legitimate and illegitimate activities completely separate, I'm not going to suddenly decide to **** over a group that is generating me a lot of profit / giving me a good service.

E: Oh lol, I'm just checking out their Wiki now. So there's an unban fee? ******* glorious. I can't imagine how this would lead the rules enforcers to be anything but impartial and fair.

I will be working with Drachiel to make a template and wiki page for the mailing list. Goal for the template is to be simple yet provide some level of consistency for easy browsing of the mailing list.

Based on previous post I would just like to emphasis that the goal is to have a simple system that is flexible and easy to understand. Much like the 3 rules of the mailing list. If its up to me I would prefer to have a template that is recommended, but not required unless we find that it becomes very confusing.

Oh and there will not be an unban fee, I second your sentiment Quinzel.

What you do outside the mailing list is of no concern to me. If however you try to use the mailing list to scam / publish scamming contracts that is another matter.
