Hello,

I figure this would be very low priority, but why not throw the idea out there.
Can we have the option to have some of the older start/login backgrounds available when we run up EVE? Since all the objects/entities should be relatively the same, it shouldn't be too time intensive to make happen.

This would be like a little trip back in time for the older players to see the Exodus start screen or others for example when you start up EVE.

That very first time I started up EVE Online, and the background for Quantum Rise appeared, with that heavy, oppressive-sounding music playing... and then hearing Aura say "Connecting.." for the first time. That was amazing.

Bring back my Castor splash, no Aura voice, no moving graphics, just a not-bad-bit-pixelly picture, build number and login details.

I like this idea!

I actually tried to see if my install off of my retail CD would still patch > Nope Cry. Got the splash up though Lol

Or how about randomly cycling through all previous login screens with music and a small intro paragraph to teach newbies about significant in-game developments or events that came in the wake of that expanstion.

Dumbing down of Eve Online will result in it's destruction...

Unfortunately this isn't quite the case; much of the rendering technology and asset formats have moved on greatly since 2003 and so even if the assets still existed in our version control system, the code to load them would be ancient and in need of a complete renovation.

every now and then ill be sat in my room at my desk and ill hear the words "Connecting" usually when i have the ingame music turned down and it it fires a memory that takes me back to my first weeks of playing eve,

I can see myself sat there in my old flat, with its ****** yellow walls, playing on a 32" TV as i had managed to break my monitor.

Man that is really disappointing! There have been a bunch of calls in the Little Things thread asking for the old login screens.

CCP Atropos, do you think that maybe as a compromise option you could load up the old builds, take screenshots of the loading screens, and let us choose old screenshot/music combinations to replace the current 3D screen?
