Plus, there's a huge community out there with which I haven't even begun to interact.

Yes, I'll get blown up from time to time, but that's the EVE universe. And I'll always be back. With a long memory and with the Irish penchant for holding centuries-long grudges.

I expect that there's camaraderie and friendship to be had, too,

As a long-time science-fiction fan, I'm impressed at how well-realized the EVE universe is, and how much freedom to act one has within it. Nothing else compares.

My goal to is to explore uncharted and lawless regions of space, make friends, get kills and experience the universe to its fullest.

There is isk to be made, people to exploit, stories to be told and always something new to see.

It doesn't matter who you are, miner, pirate, missioner, explorer, we are a big (dysfunctional) family
