Kicking a dead horse and I don't care. What was the logic of getting rid of it? Please bring it back CCP.

Voicing my opinion to deny this and keep DSPs out of the game.

Why?

DSPs allow player to make a quick survey of a large system. Take, for example, Kasi in the Kador region: the system is more than a 110 AU across. Even in Spread Formation, regular scan probes have gaps in their coverage, since the formation is set up to maximize size, therefore it avoids overlapping areas. Since spheres don't tessellate, this results in wedges of space outside probe ranges.
The same is avoided if a player drops a DSP on the star itself, and sets it to 256 AU, which covers any given system and reveals structures, ships, and signatures, letting the player pick the type he's interested in.

DSPs are very useful in the probing game, and I'm sorry to see them go, since I only recently finished training Astrometrics V for them. If their removal is final, I think I won't be the only one expecting an SP-refund.

There is no logic to any of these changes on sisi!
The whole probe system was fine. On sisi its a terrible mess. Useless fat buttons where 1 button was fine before, limited loading options? since when did anything need a particular amount of amunition to load it? And an annoying complication with missing dsp and no 'system' combat probing at all.

4 skills where 1 was fine and compact and didn't leave a mess in 100's of 1000's of characters skills.

And fat clumpy grey buttons where once there was subtle transparent glowing ones on gates.

Don't get me started on Cut scenes.

They've got a month before releasing the new upgrade, they can finish the cutscenes (even though they look fine to me). And there always were four scanning skills: Astrometrics, Astrometric Rangefinding (probe strength), Acquisition (scan speed), and Pinpointing (distance deviation).

Add's a boot to kick the dead horse ...
DSP's add value to EVE, removing them diminished the game.

Look, if you cant figure out how to use combat probes to do exactly the same thing as DSPs then I feel sorry for you mate.

Perhaps someone should read the feedback threads and post there instead of creating a redundant thread?

Carebear tool, relying on DSP. But yeah agree, kicking a horse too since it makes stuff way easier to get a feel what's in local.
