Could there be a high-sec Ice war...?

Easy fix if ur in a NPC corp you can't fly a ship that can't be trained on a trial account. I problem solved all these fighter alts., and mi ers and I rap like that would have to join player corps to be able to unlock I am those kind d's of ships.

Highsec Ice belongs to James 315. End of story.

Highsec is owned by players now. Systems 0.5-1.0 are New Order Territory. All miners and other residents of Highsec must obey The Code. Mining without a permit is dangerous and harmful to the EVE community. See www.MinerBumping.com

I'm generally in favor of doing things to NPC corps to encourage people to not be in them. But this idea doesn't even make sense.

See now if they made it so that members of non-school NPC corps could shoot each other in highsec while incurring sec status loss and a suspect flag like a character engaging a neutral character in lowsec I think you'd find far fewer people that are willing to be members of NPC corps for long periods of time.

i agree, it's no fun being able to do an underpaid activity without it costing you even more money in replacing ships because you've really got no defence in a mining ship other than don't mine or drop to an npc corp.



sure.. at the same time make it that bumping and ganking can only be done from a player corp...

Lots. I know ppl that would start ice mining just to get a war dec from the evil ice empire corp.

Stupidity should be a bannable offense.

The problem I see with pvp is that there is not a lot of things to fight for those that aren't into the hot-drop warfare and supercap stuff. What interesting about the ice changes is that it will be a nice null sec conflict driver, but really won't have any impact on the non-null sec conflicts because you can't fight with NPC corps.

Thus a player has to either choose to fight for pointlessness...or ...join the hot-drop gayness that most folks agree is a borked endgame. Otherwise pvp without a point is the rule.

Might seem like a small, almost inconsequential change, but if CCP were to make the ice a player-corp only affair then I think that they would be shocked about the implications for the game for many players and what would result in terms of player engagement and dynamics.

Somewhere I saw CCP say they do not want to limit what players in NPC corps can do. And even if they did: Just have everyone join a new corp, mine until the war goes hot, jump corp. The other way to do it would be for every ice miner to be in a separate one man corp. Have fun deccing them all.
