With all the recent updates, I've noticed there is little change to the actual universe environment.
And here I submit a list of ideas that we should have in the future.

Multi-star system - I know there are systems with more than one suns, why not add it in the game?

Comets - Even just for visual effects, can we have some of these in the systems?

Miniature black holes - An anomaly that will vaporize in time, around it will cause disruption to all electrical system due to immense amount of radiation. But also it draws debris and asteroids around it. When it dies, it will either disappear quietly or in a supernova.

Stellar black holes - A system that is rotate around one or more black holes. Instead of the sun being in the center of the system, a black hole took its place, or a combination of both. Some interesting environment can be setup around this type of systems.

Interstellar cloud - An accumulation of gas, plasma and dust in systems. It could reduce visual range or sensor detection distance.

Space radiation storms - Randomly caused by an explosion on the sun accelerates solar protons, disrupts electrical systems on the ships.

Space aurora - Be able to see auroras near planets from space, should be really cool on visuals. It's great for space romance.

Plasma cloud - A blob of charged plasma unleashed by sun spot, will damage anything within it's path, better get your shield and armor ready.

Dense nebula - Left over by supernova or exploded suns, it will create some cool space environments around it's vicinity.

Asteroid clusters - A newly formed system that doesn't have any planets yet, entire system is surrounded by millions of asteroids, it'll be a great adventure to navigate through the asteroid maze and search for the treasure.

The core of galaxy - Create some systems near the core of galaxy and give us a direct visual of the massive black hole at the center of the galaxy. It'll prove how insignificant we are comparing to the size of the galaxy.

All these suggestions is mostly for visual and exploration, any other ideas are welcome too.

Interesting. Perhaps these can be useful for the "new types of space" that CCP wants to let us build stargates to sometime within the next five years.

Hopefully this doesn't take that long, some of the stuff is really simple to add, some will be objects and some as dynamic background.

Nope :/

Would be pretty cool though.

"Bro, gatecamp on D-scan, warp to the sun QUICK!"
"SH*T WHICH ONE?!"

No star = no light. That would be.... AWESOME! Think about it, you have powerful lights on your ships that tracks the target. Camera-drones will have some kind-of-nightvision that you could turn off and just watch how asteroids reflects your hulks mining lasers lights back or your POS beacon lights pulsing. How would you feel if you can see how dark the cold space is?

I disagree!

When I first started playing I started racing for the sun
Nothing happened, other than my eyes burning Sad

I was kind of disappointed finding out that we wont be visiting any of the landmarks in Odyssey, would be perfect timing too...they've been sitting their untouched for so long.

+1

We need new space environments.

I'd particularly like a dark area where we have to use lights and or night vision.

I hope CCP plans to implement ideas like this in the future. Alone, EVE's space can feel redundant and boring after a while, because the environment itself lacks the dynamic feeling that the game as a whole is known for. I'd love to have to adapt to an unpredictable environment or even a system that is known to have certain unique static themes within it, like the aforementioned "dark" systems.

Yes, yes and yes again to dynamic astrological events but not with the damage or knocking out of electrical systems. Or ships are hardened to this due to the harsh environments we came from and go into (role playing this a bit.).

Nice ideas though, I like where your head is at.

I especially the idea of an almost dark system that required lights to be used and with a possible NVG look to the screen, maybe even a "Flood Light" module or "NVG" module that uses cap but grants more visibility.

+1 and a little bumpage too for free :)

EDIT: Check out my idea in my sig, give it some love, give it some venom but it a look nonetheless Blink

No sun = no planets.

besides, do you know how FAR a planet would have to be from ANY black hole to "orbit" it without being sucked towards its extreme gravity? far enough that warping from the "sun" to planet I would take half an hour.

as for Binary and trinary star systems? in EVE lore i thought these were pretty common, just werent used ingame because of art assets.

(and before binary/trinary stars, i wanna see binary/trinary planets)

Black holes do not have any sort of "super mega ultra powerful gravity". They actually have less gravity than the star that created them. What's really special about them is that it is all concentrated in one point, which, ironically, lets planets get closer to them than the original star.

The Caldari put business before pleasure. The Gallente put business in pleasure.

Yes, a black hole does not change the orbit of the planets around it, as long as the mass of the black hole stays the same. For example, if our sun turns into black hole, and the mass does not change, our orbit will be still the same, the only thing affects the gravity is the total mass of the sun/black hole. The black hole's gravitational field only dramatically increase when getting extremely close. As Fg = G (m1*m2)/(d^2) force of gravity is equal the product of two masses divide by the distance square, so as long as you stay far enough from the black hole, it won't affect anything around it.

Maybe just include some random "System Effects"

Real Life example: Solar Flares, Geomagnetic storms, Killer Asteroids the size of Texas bearing down on some poor planet with terribad actors, etc. etc.
Bring the randomness on, make life interesting (ish)

+1 for this ! I would like to see more dark and dangerous places. I imagine dark space where you are on the end of the known universe and you run into this http://ferrebeekeeper.files.wordpress.com/2012/01/quasar.jpg?w=490&h=373 ... in eve I feel damn safe... nothing cant hurt me but npcs... the space itself should be dangerous !

Add more NPC traffic and orbital structures, landmarks and general signs of non-capsuleer life as well.
