Shooting allied militia - the done thing or bad form?

Apologies for noob question.
I'm thinking of joining FW to get some frigate pew pew. I'm not sure which side to join yet, I dont really care about LPs or anything, just getting fights.

My question is within the FW community are allied militia (e.g. Gallente if I was in Minmatar) generally considered as 'fair game' or is it a bit of a no-no go shooting them? I've been told they show up as allied in overview, I wouldn't want to get a name as an AWOX or damage the rep of a corp I joined or anything.

So, what do you generally do? Treat them as allies and leave them to plex/mission or just shoot them in the face?

there is some guys who shoot everyone no matter which militia they are. Only problem is that if you shoot your own militia you will lose faction standing and you will be kicked out of militia if you do not know how to avoid that.

I do not see any problem on guys who shoot their own militia, it is part of game mechanics. But usually people do not want to co-operate with guys who have awoxers in their corp/alliance. Some people consider even allied militia killers as awoxers.

Allied militia awoxing is currently out of of control as there is no penalty for doing it. You can either run away or shoot them.

First of all if you are looking for the faction with the most small gang PVP. I suggest Caldari vrs gallenta if you are a more experienced pilot looking for a good group to fly with i suggest amarr minmatar, regardless of what milita you join your going to want to get into and active alliance or corp other wise your going to find yourself with nothing to do. because most FC's in any milita wont take out pub fleets very oftin.

If you would like to contact me in game i can find a place for you i have contacts in all four militia's

We try to blue any Minmatar militia group that wants to be blued, but treat the others as NBSI. We tried to not shoot them for a while, but there's so many awoxers it's just not feasible.

If it's just pvp you want why join FW and not just go out in frigs and shoot stuff?

As for shooting allied militia treat them all as hostile until you get to know them. There isn't much allied 'blue on blue' between the Caldari & Amarr as there is between the Gals & Minnies but it does happen.

An easy way to tell is to put the militia column on your over view and shrink it down to 1 letter, afterall that will tell you straight away if he is in your militia (and hence have a penalty if you shoot him) or an allied militia and technically 'fair game'. I believe that CCP may be changing it to show allied militia as a different colour on the overview but have no idea if this is just rumour or any timeframe on it.

That is the Way, the Tao.

Balance is everything.

S'what I heard too. I'm not gonna lie, I've shot gallente and minnie who come into my plex, don't talk to me, and refuse to leave the plex. Not in a heavily contest system, but when it's CLEARLY backwater and they're just whoring my LP. It's just bad form chaps, bad form.

JUSTK had a "Don´t shoot minnies" policy, but there are soooo many instances of minmatar militia pilots and corporations shooting us that we have to choice but to go NBSI on them, just like Qcats.

I´ve only asked my pilots to hold for a bit till I make sure we are blue to whoever we should be blue.

Other than that, we consider bad form taking other people´s plexes (be it minmatar or gallente pilots) and we used to consider bad form opening fire unprovoked on minmatar militia.

There is so many minmatar in gallente space that shoot the gallente, the general rule is that unless you go out of your way to blue any and all gallente militia entities, you will be shot by them, since too many of us have learned the hard way that non blue minmatar will shoot.
