Does the one-year remap timer still tick if during any part of that year you are unsubscribed?

Im fairly sure it does. I unsubbed when they started to focus on ******* walking in stations, just got back and i did not notice my remap timer getting any longer:)))

Bjornar: Yes I hope the timer doesn't reset or grow longer, but let me give an example of what I mean:

I have 6 months left to remap. My sub ends and I come back 3 months later. Will there only be 3 months left on the timer?

Confirming this. Wasn't subbed for about five weeks earlier this year and it still says the original date.

Not that it is necessary, but I will also throw out a confirmation that the remap countdown does continue to tick off seconds while an account is unsubbed.
