Thin veil of democracy, fallen. - Skarkon II liberation anniversary - [WHIST] Public Announcement

I'll be brief.

For the past few weeks, we have witnessed a number of important events; to bring up at least some of them, Gallente Federation revealing its hypocritical face in a political war of subterfuge against its own people, the mass shooting at a gathering, which, through death of Karin Midular indirectly brought to the Elder Fleet invasion of Gallente space and the escalation of tribal agressive and federal racist tensions.

All of these events ultimately show the simple truth; the notion, or rather delusion that democracy is a viable and working political system are nothing more but that; delusions. With the two 'bastions' of democracy in all known space being this corrupted, hypocritical and broken, I don't think there's much left for discussion.

But why am I bringing this up at a moment like this? Well, it's simple. There's another thing that happened, about 5 years ago.

On May 28th, 110 YC, People of Skarkon II tried to free themselves from the Republic, playing it by their rules.
Via a referendum, 10 million people voted in favour of secession from the Republic, and voted for being annexed by the Angel Cartel.

Quote:
"The Cartel's got guards patrolling the streets," noted one resident, 23-year old Jakis Tarell, speaking of the armed soldiers the Angel Cartel landed on the planet as part of the takeover. "They're keeping the peace. And they're already offering people chances to work for them. I never thought I'd get off the planet. Maybe now I can."

A brand new era for Skarkon II, possibility for a bright future, growth, perspective... however, things didn't go according to plan. The voice of 10 million people. 10 living breathing people, voices of 'democracy' was simply brushed aside by Maleatu Shakor and his warmongering cronies in the Parliament.
This precious democracy in the Republic hasn't died over the last couple weeks, or last couple of weeks; it has never actually existed at all.

But let's get to the point;

On Tuesday, May 28th 115YC, 5 years since the Skarkon II referendum, I call for those who have seen through the thin veil of lies, who want to live up to their potentials, who no longer want to be oppressed by the hypocritical laws, to join us in the orbit of Skarkon II, in the anniversary of Angel Cartel's annexation of the system; to show the people of Skarkon that there is still hope and that we are still here. That we were always here. We shall commemorate the death of Karin Midular, the death of democracy and a dawning of a new, bright age for people oppressed by the Minmatar Republic.

Cartel victor.

Oh they gave up democracy a long time ago... when you hold an election and only one person is allowed to run then they're not fooling anyone.

As for more current events, there are a few high placed people in the Republic government who would have wanted Karin Midular dead.

1) Your idea of brief is vastly different to the actual definition.
2) Will there be Booze?

Ooh a party!
Everyone likes parties. I will do my best to attend.

I do this for many reasons. I do it because I believe it is right. I do it because I will profit by it. These all consolidate into one reason: I do it because I can.

It has been five year since the people of Skarkon II choose to leave the ever weakening Republic. Five years in which transition should have taken place, but clearly the democratic process must have been deliberately hindered and delayed by government officials within the Republic top. How can that be? Is one person one vote not the heart of democracy? Do the leaders of the Republic even give a **** about their people and the so called rights of that people? Clearly they did not when the people of Skarkon II used their democratic right to vote!

Coreli Corporaton will be honored in aiding the citizens of Skarkon II claim their democratic right and see to the wishes of the people gets for-filled.

Mr. Caine, it is time that we aid the population of Skarkon II break free from the chains that is the Minmatar Republic. The capsuleers and marine infantry of Coreli Corporation is standing by to support this cause and will stand ready May 28th in orbit of Skarkon II.

Skarkon II, you have our full support!

I bet the people of Skarkon are rejoicing that their supposed saviors are semi-literate louts who can't even use language properly. The correct word is 'fulfilled', by the way.

As long as we're being pedantic, Skarkon's supposed saviors* are the Angel Cartel, while Coreli is a Serpentis corporation.

Petty. "Petty" seems to be the only way I could describe you, considering any communique of yours I have had the displeasure of reading recently.

Since pedantry seems to be in vogue, it's Skarkon and not Starkon.

The people of Skarkon turned to the Angel Cartel as a rejection of Midular's failed leadership and the crumbling of her government.

A situation promptly reversed by the return of the Elder's and the sweeping aside of the corruption eroding the heart of the government. The Elder's intervention and reuniting of the Tribes allowed for the Minmatar to start over in a way that had been unthinkable merely weeks before.

The Cartel fled Skarkon as the Elders descended - not upon Skarkon, but upon Domain - and abandoned their claim to the system without a shot being fired. Since then the matter of Skarkon's sovereignty has not been an issue. The people demasnded fresh leadership and they, along with all Minmatar, recieved their wish.

Sanmatar Shakor was elected unopposed as he was the only logical choice. The gathering of the Tribal Assembly is the long awaited milestone that marks the true beginning of a Minmatar system government that represents the needs of the Minmatar people. I believe that Skarkon shall be well served by it.
