Ive been seeing a lot of other miners leaving their ore floating in Giant Secure Containers ect and been wondering if it is a safe thing to do. Is there any way another player can break into these and take my ore?

Giant Secure Containers can contain at most 3.9 km^3 of ore - This isn't much.
Try looking for the jet-cans instead, they can hold 27.5 km^3 of ore each.


Don't expect this to be particularly profitable. You would make more money just mining the ore yourself...

It's an /old/ thing to do. Back when mining ships had /small/ ore holds.

They're only 'safe' in 0.7 and below systems. Above that, you can't anchor them.

Anchor it, password protect it, and the contents cannot just be taken.

Just don't do it in a freighter and don't go out with your suspect flag still up, and you too can prey on the hard work of people who are still jet canning mining despite every mining ship having a big ore hold.

Ventures are actually great for stealing the ore out of people's jetcans. I don't think there is any profit in it, but I suspect you would generate some good miner tears.
