New Caldari – The Caldari Navy and Chief Executive Panel have announced they are conducting a joint investigation of the events surrounding the Gallente assault on Caldari Prime and the crash of the Leviathan-class titan Shiigeru on the planet. The investigation, which has been conducted until now under top security protocols, is nearing completion.

Neither the Navy nor the CEP have announced what specific details they are investigating, instead saying, “We are conducting a broad analysis of the entire situation, from the highest levels of command to the very bottom.”

The CEP has extended its investigation to capsuleers involved in the assault and is asking any who participated and wish to provide testimony to contact Odo Hakaalen, the CEP's capsuleer liaison. The CEP expects to complete the report within the next two weeks.

The Gallente Senate has requested that the CEP and Navy share the results of their findings, which the CEP has reportedly agreed to.

Am I the only one who find it wierd that when the Gallente wants information about what happened to their people and why it gets delivered right away, while we get an "due proccess" as a reply if we want to know who the murderer of the ray of mater is and the reason behind it?

Maybe Odo will accept mercenary testimonies aswell, having a ground pounders view on the battle could prove useful.

What's there to investigate?
The Gallente viciously attacked the Caldari navy per their president's policy leading to a super-capital ship dropping onto a populated planet.

What information do they require?
All I can say is I spent the minutes before the battle suggesting that was a bad course of action and the time during the battle suggesting the Gallente navy do something to make the Shiigeru NOT hit the planet. Anyone who recorded the local channel should be able to corroborate this. I was too busy trying to dodge other capsuleers to focus on the battle at large aside from the status of the Shiigeru and the specific ships I was involved in combat with.

No, I'm sorry. You don't get to do this.

I'm usually sympathetic to Minmatar causes but in the past few days I'm finding my ideological equanimity seems to have deserted me, for some unfathomable reason.

They're asking for the results of an investigation, you're asking for details of an ongoing investigation.

I think the main reason for this investigation is to figure out how the Gallente rebellion on the planet got started, and to investigate the final moments of the Shiigeru, mainly if it was truly preparing to fire it's doomsday on Caldari Prime and if it was, who ordered it and why?

I guess that makes sense. I suspect the Federation helped incite the rebellion but don't have much in the way of hard data, so I would be interested to see what a report would say on the matter. As for the doomsday, I think everyone can answer the question of what sort of madman orders a DD fired at a planet, so the only real question is if he had given the order yet.

Extremely large Federation offensive.A premeditated and planned assault, in the orbit and on the planet by Federation Navy and land forces, to take back control of Caldari Prime. Probably planned by Federation Navy authorised by the President.

Hopefully they will be looking into how the Caldari Navy handled the situation , if anything could of been done better to prevent the Navy's losses. What happened on the planet , how our land forces performed. . Was there any evidence of Federation death squads or war crimes committed against the Caldari citizens on the planet.

One thing we do not need the investigation to tell us, is that the blame for the tens of millions lives lost that day belongs with the Federation goverment and their decision of a planned assault to retake Caldari Prime.

I look forward to reading the report from Admiral Yanala (as the senior Caldari navy officer involved) when the full details of the report are released.

Where is Admiral Yanala?

My guess is they have been keeping her quite till they finish the report. After though i expect she will be allowed to speak freely with the public. Have her hidden away so no news group hound her about info and such.

But thats just speculation.

It certainly appears that she is being deliberately kept away from the media. I'm not sure what that necessarily means.

Heth did promise an investigation of her. I am not sure if that is connected to this, though..

Since some comments are indignantly pointing fingers at the Federation, can we have an investigation into the original 110 invasion as well then? It killed just as many.

If I were to hazard a guess, it would be that this investigation is being pursued separately from Heth's investigation, and perhaps even in response to it. If the CEP and CalNav are investigating the full chain of command, this ideally would include the decisions and involvement of Heth. This may be the beginning of CEP's move against Heth.
