Covert jump portals can only jump ships that can fit covops cloaks (plus blops). Freighters cannot fit covops cloaks and are not blops. Thus, they cannot use covert jump portals.

What about Blockade runners?

The very sun of heaven seemed distorted when viewed through the polarising miasma welling out from this sea-soaked perversion, and twisted menace and suspense lurked leeringly in those crazily elusive angles of carven rock where a second glance shewed concavity after the first shewed convexity.

They're fair game to jump.

Ah but what if the blockade runner is inside a freighter then hmmm?

It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

The freighter would have to be inside the blockade runner. Which would be a neat trick.

Well, with enough blockade runners, you could portal the components, bpc, tower and assembly through the portal and then build the freighter secretly in the target system.

The ONLY things that can jump through a covert portal are

Stealth Bombers
Covert Ops Frigs
Force Recon Cruisers
Blockade Runner Transports
Black Ops Battleships

Anything that DOES NOT have the ability to use a COVERT OPS cloak WILL not be able to use this portal.

Correct me if I am wrong, but Covert Portals can only link to covert cynos.

You're wrong. Covert portals can link to any cyno; the question is why you'd want to do that.

Also, the whole "must be able to fit a covops cloak to use a covops portal" thing is messed up by the fact that blops can use them. Technically the attribute that determines whether a ship can use the covops portal is called "jump harmonics", which, if I recall correctly, has to be greater than 2 to use a covert portal.

Regardless, no freighters. Period.

It has to be 2, actually.

So Stealth Bombers, Covert Ops, Force Recons, Strategic Cruisers with the Covert Reconfiguration sub, Black Ops, Blockade Runners and the Etana.

No sig.

... or you can just read the original blog:

Covert jump portal generators can only bridge for ships with Jump Harmonics 2 or above.

i.e if it can fit a Covert Cloaking Device II, or if it is a Black Ops, it can use a covert bridge (though it is stupid to covert bridge a Black Ops).

You forgot covert subsystemed t3's. They can also light covert cyno's now if I am not mistaken.

The other limitation will be the Black Ops battleship's fuel supply - which will be drained in proportion to the mass of the ship that's bridging through.

(Incidentally, if you try to go through a Black Ops bridge with a MWD active - which greatly increases your apparent mass - you will probably incur the wrath of the Black Ops pilot.)
