Video

So ya, the enemy navy does not spawn for this militia pilot. So is this allowed? I mean, I would love to do this, but this is just blatant cheating/glitching.

Is there someway to actually do this? I mean... lolwut?

According to the video description:
Quote:
The Caldari NPC Navy is not spawning for this character that is apart of the Gallente Militia.

Since the pilot is not actually a member of the Gallente Militia, I see no reason why the Caldari Navy should shoot him.

CCP has no sense of humour.

We have been noticing this too... I have been telling guys that I am sure they are just mistaken and that maybe they killed the navy off or something?

He is in a paladin.. is it possible to kill the navy that spawns to kill you and then no more spawns? I mean I dont know im just guesing here.

The video clearly shows that he is in the Gallente Militia, meaning if he goes Caldari high sec he will be attacked by the NPC navy. It is shown on the overview and i have his Character Information up that also shows he is in the Gallente militia.

I did not catch this on fraps, but he is also tractor beaming yellow wrecks to him! I had just killed someone and even my alt account can not loot/tractor beam the wreck without going suspect, and he just tractor beams it over to his ship.

Is it possible that someone else was drawing them off? It's my (limited) understanding that a system will only produce so many faction navy spawns at one time, and since they are not CONCORD (not even close) they can be permatanked by a ship that is designed to do that. If this person safes up and begins tanking all the navy spawns, then anyone else can roam free.

ETA: Was watching the vid when I replied. The only reason I can think of for him not being attacked when the player's alt was, is because he was in 'militia stasis.' Sometimes when a player/corp leaves militia, their bio will still show them as being in the militia, 'friendly' local chat will still show them as being militia, but the overview, 'enemy' local chat, and the faction navy do not treat them as being in militia. This has happened to me when our corp has had to drop militia in the past.

He stays undocked in a sniping spot for long amounts of time, sometimes even 40 minuets, no navy appears. The only thing that deters him from going away is when something comes along that he can't handle like 3 battleships, at which point he just docks. There is no way they are being drawn off, the second I undock, BAM navy spawn.

When me and my corp mate undock TWO navy's spawn, one for each of us.

This guy undocks all the time and nothing attacks him.

edit: in the video it shows him shooting a war target, he is still in the milita.

And I forgot to mention, HE HAS BEEN DOING THIS FOR A LONG TIME!

Wouldn't it be easier to just file a petition? Since you seem to be accusing him of some kinds of hacks, leave it to the professionals.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

The above method still applies. Apparently your spawn belongs to you. They don't switch up without aggression. So if he has someone draw his Navy spawn off (such as a safed alt with RR) then he has the run of the system as long as he does not (dock up?) or jump system. He won't get a new spawn just by being there.

FWIW, we have a handful of our own enemy snipers and campers that frequent Hek and Rens in this fashion, apparently unhindered by faction Navy.

Could it be that he has high standings with Caldari, but is in the Gallente Navy? Used to be that faction rats wouldn't agro you in FW plex's if you had high enough standing. Wouldn't surprise me if it worked that way for police spawns too.

I think if they destroy all of the Navy ships and then perhaps they dont spawn again until after DT. Im not sure I've not tried it myself, but I've seen people who have killed the Navy ships before.

I'm guessing it is some kind of standings exploit/glitch after watching the video. I have seen other players completely dispatch the Navy before, but your saying they still spawn for you but not for him, so I'm not sure how this works either.

An exploit is still an exploit if everyone does it.

No basically if you were to put out probes or use dscan when he first undocks you would see that he warps alot.
What happens is that after some number of warps (lowend 5 high 20) the Navy tries to slow boat to you.
Consequently none of their spawns will engage until he docks up.

This is easy to see as Scrutt here is constantly warping about to avoid being shot and the navy will spawn then at some point the navy will stop.
While this is going though Dav never gets a spawn.

It is well known to do this in all faction warfare if you want to camp enemy hisec systems.
The downside is that because the navy is engaged the logs do show nothing.
And apparently pictures and video are not satisfactory evidence to the contrary.

This exploit really sucks. Any chance of a comment from CCP on this?

Faction navies are a bad, anti-PVP mechanic and shouldn't exist anyway. Players involved in faction warfare should be able to fight eachother freely without NPCs preventing them from doing it effectively.

There is no exploit.

There is just a bunch of players who don't understand game mechanics very well.

I don't think OP should be using the forums as a court of public opinion.

To be fair, I don't think the majority of players understand this mechanic, and it sounds like a bit of a ****** mechanic to be honest. Not blaming you for using it, but it sounds like something CCP need to sort out.
