Greetings MD,

Just stopping by to let you guys know that Eve Blackjack is just a few days from lauching after a successful beta, and will work in the game browser wonderfully.

We will be adding features such as new decks, and newsfeeds.

registration will be open soon. Many thanks to Cooyaw for funding this project.

we hope to bring other casino games to you in your eve browser with easy access and no-fuss registration.

Also, a question regarding the Blackjack. Must it be played in the ingame browser, or can it be played with regular web browsers?

What about table rules: You need to post these before people invest.

Dealer must hit on less than 17
Dealer must hit on soft 17.
Dealer stands on Hard 17 or greater.

Blackjack pays 3:2

Dealer shuffles 1/2 through deck
x number decks used

Double down on aces = 1 card only
You may split aces only 1 time

We'll post rules on site before it goes live. IIRC dealer must hit less than 17, and dealer must hit a soft 17, and yeah dealer stands on hard 17. Black jack pays 1.5 times bet. don't know what dealer shuffles through, i assume it's 4 decks but not sure on that either. Code Monkey will post that info though. Thanks for the suggestion.

Excellent service. Occastionally got stuck after hitting hit or stand, but it usually comes back after waiting a minute. Most of the time service is smooth, its only the occasional time it sticks.

Aaah, so very addictive! I do have a few pointers on the design of the site though. I'm not sure if this thread is meant for feedback or if there's another thread for that somewhere else.

- While playing the cards are displayed on the far left while the wager options are displayed on the far right. Bringing those two closer together would probably make for a better experience on larger (wider) screens.

- The blue and red values represent the card value and the bet amount respectively, but are displayed right beside each other underneath the cards. Despite the different colors this has briefly confused me several times. It might be better to display the bet value somewhere else.

- Even though I find it quite easy to actually win (in part because Blackjack is not entirely a game of luck), is there some way we as players can verify the card dealing algorithm so everyone knows the cards are always random and fair?

I don't mind you posting that here, as i'm not one of those, THERE IS A THREAD FOR THAT nazis.

yeah, those things you mentioned are actually all things we've looked at changing, especially the bet/player hand UI element thing.

as far as RNG stuff, random number generation, I brought this up to the programmer and ofc in true epic nerd programmer style he goes on to say that True RNG is not possible on a computer, and Pseudo RNG is basically what this is, and something about NASA using True RNG and that it take very expensive hardware and yada yada.

I want to give the community whatever it wants in terms of knowing that it's not made to fleece players, just a standard blackjack game, that being said, we arne't planning on releasing code, or anything that could put our site in danger.

Well for what it's worth, I don't feel this blackjack game to be any different from others I've played. The odds of certain cards coming up seem to be pretty much the same as in a real life casino or professional online Blackjack. Only difference is that professional online Blackjack is mostly regulated and the algorithm inspected by some agency to make sure it's fair. With real life Blackjack you know it's fair because the card shuffler is right there on the table. In the case of this we only have your word for it. For me that's fine, I'm enjoying myself with it so far and don't feel like I'm being cheated. But I'm sure I don't have to tell you that trust is few and far between in the EVE community ;).
