CCP already attempted to fix AFK cloaking one time.... via pos modules.... the community was so outraged that it only lasted like maybe a month or two and then they had to revolk and "buy back" all the pos modules that did it...

If you cant beat them join them... go afk cloak their system.. and you will see how super boring it is... Also most of the time these guys are not afk... (well ok not most of the time), and are instead looking for easy hotdrops/tank tips... but im sure you already know that and that is why you are whining about them.

One an hour, every hour, every day, until CCP fixes the lamest game mechanic in the history of MMOs.

It is rock, paper, scissors, NUKE BOMB.

100 people sit in station or safed up at a POS, all lamenting that there is not a SINGLE F'N thing that can be done about ONE freakin' cloaky camper with a cyno, able to drop an infinite number of ships, with no warning....

A good game should provide a defense for every offense and an offense to every defense. There is no defense to the cloaky camper.

You could do what us people with some balls do and start baiting with back-up or ratting belts in pvp fits to keep making money while some dude sits afk in the system bored to death. What's the worst that can happen your vagalos gets hot dropped? As long as the cloaky dies you've won.

I've been on both sides of the cloaker and you anti-cloakers are just fruits with no imagination. Here's a video that was made on how to counter a cloaker.

They're noticing that AFK cloakers inject a measure of insecurity into the otherwise perfect intel tool that is local.

Exactly.

i don't LIKE cloakers (afk or otherwise) screwing with me, but avoiding them and still making loads and loads of space paper (isk lol) is "playing the game" to me.

Well done on succeeding in EVE (by not letting a cloaky camper scare you).

But the underlined part is the "problem". For the anti-afk cloaker folks, no amount of risk or loss is acceptable. They are really just high sec players transferring thier high sec protectionist/carebear mentality on null sec areas, when you get right down to it.

The fact that you of all people called someone a "fruit" has utterly redeemed this thread. Never change, Minmatar Citizen160812!

If you dont like AFK cloakers.... simply minimize local.

No.

Your problem is your reliance upon local intel and not reading the information it's giving you correctly.

Yeah, it is SPAM... We industrialists should launch a coordinated campaign of SPAM until CCP wakes up and gives us SOME mechanism to counter the cloaky camper.

You mean, like Local? Yep, Local (plus D-Scan/Scan Probes, for the pedants) allows you to know that someone is cloaking in your system instantly (the confirmation that they're cloaked takes some extra time).

That information allows you to set a trap, or prepare yourself to escape.

1. Trap:
Knowing that they need to be in point range of you to guarantee kills, cloak a cyno Dictor or HIC on field, and bubble them when they land on their cyno, and in comes your fleet.

2. Escape: Drop a MLU for a Warp Core Stab (few cyno bombers fit scrams. If your local one does, fit 2). Or Spider Web your mining ships to allow you to be fully aligned while only barely moving. Or keep a fast locking Nado on hand to blap the cyno while your mining ships escape. If your local cloaky is not a bomber, then you have at least 5 seconds of warning before being tackled.

Anyway, miners are not industrialists. We call Andrew Carnegie and John D. Rockefeller Industrialists. We do not call Homer Hickam Sr. an Industrialist. We call him a miner. And there's nothing wrong with being a miner.

There is something wrong with being a miner who is unable to deal with nobody (since they're AFK) sitting in your system cloaked.

Wow...how obvious that a S2N renter says yes to anti cloaky things.

Grow some balls, protect your space and you won't have cloakies.
