even the cyno alt argument i find a bit weak.

if i'm not mistaken, power of 2 is 3 plex? and then 2 plex for a transfer. that's 6 months of training for 5 plex. although i guess the counter argument is that power of 2 isn't always available.

well, this change only adds things and doesn't take things away so i guess nobody can argue it's a bad idea, only the extent of how useful it will be.

Do you not know what a cyno alt is?

yes, and i appreciate it doesn't need 6 months worth of SP but still, wouldn't hurt to give it some scanning skills perhaps *shrug* like i said, this concept isn't bad.

I'm okay with this. It's actually less cost effective than getting a second account, which is how it should be because otherwise CCP would lose money from second accounts having characters transferred to the main account.

BRB, converting all isk to PLEX.

Finally, its about damn time.

This feature is useless:

1 account more for one plex gives you 3 chars. When you are ready you can move the char to another acc. But as long as you train a 2nd char, yo can use 2 chars for free
2 chars training on the same account cost you 2 plexes.

The choice is obvious

Quite a few people in here have limited imagination. I currently sub for 6 accounts; 4 in wormhole space and 2 in highsec.. At this level, traveling around is tedious & highly annoying. Dual training will allow me to add 3 alts for FW and 3 for NPC null. I will get to enjoy various aspects of the sandbox w/o having to travel everywhere & save the headache of managing 12 accounts.

Maybe cyno-alt is not the best case, but for market-alt, FW/RvsB-alt, ganker-alt, high sec shopping-alt, etc. this sound pretty good.

How is this any different from having two accounts other than you not being able to have both characters online at the same time?

It's not. But it does save the 2-PLEX transfer fee that you'd otherwise incurr from transferring a character you're done training.

This feature is clearly for people who want to make a low-SP specific purpose alt (hauler alt, trade alt, whatever) without the overhead of running a second account.

If you don't like it, don't use it, sheeesh Roll

I'm alright with this, to be honest it has a lot of positive effects for people that need the cyno alts, the hisec hauler alts etc that don't get used all the time and wouldn't justify a whole new account being constantly paid for.

Think of the new ISK sink

I imagine PLEX prices will start shaking, but after seeing the fanfest presentation, how CCP has actively alleviated market pressures before, I'm confident this will be a good thing if implemented

this feature have been here forever, its called and ALT account

whats good about this??

its gonna cost the same as running another acc, that you can actually play on, have 2 cynos alts or 2 noob spys or whatever.

now we get the option to pay for 2 and only able to play whit one.

Maybe they plan on letting you play with 2 chars on same account once the single sign on is implemented. *shrug*

Someone else on Sisi brought this to my attention and I was skeptical at first, but it appears to be true - come Odyssey you will be able to use a PLEX to activate simultaneous training on two characters on the same account for 30 days. It makes perfect sense and I think it's something that a lot of people have been asking for for years.

I can't say it enough, this is brilliant.

Do this ccp, this is how you properly monetize a game like this, not 1000 dollar pants :) .

Has CCP declared war on consequences?

First pay to fix sec status, now this. I don't like the wowification of my Eve.

What removal of consequenses are you referring to? 1 PLEX has always bought you 30 days of training on another character. The only difference is, that now that character doesn't have to be on a different account.

Been chatting about this on the alliance forums and a question had just come to mind.

Let's say you are training up two characters through this system and while training on both of them is running the time for it runs out. Which of the character's training is going to stop?

mmk that's a good point, there's a bunch of different ways CCP could tackle that..though i dunno. The worst possible is that if your subscription runs out then "oh well, should've thought about that" consequence.

If I were CCP I'd code it so the most recent character to have hit "apply" on their skill queue would have that training stopped.
