To me that post looks legit, as turrets don't seem to render in station but they do in space. Likely a graphical oversight on CCP's part in the rush to get spinning back.

I don't even bother paying attention in ship-spin mode...

anyway, the OP of that thread is a different OP than this one...

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Use the Agent Finder in station to find level 1 security agents you can access, to give you missions to kill NPC's. Mining.. well, I haven't mined in.... 4+ years at least so I can't advise with that :)

Yes. Two blithering idiots. One can't work out if he needs to buy new guns because they "fell off" and the other doesn't know what an escape capsule is.

Both in the same corp.

But anyway. Did you hear they took gullible out of the dictionary?

Get a Retriever as fast as you possibly can, and from there get a Hulk (Or Covetor if you blew all your cash).

Tanking in a barge/exhumer is relatively useless compared to moar cargo room, AS LONG AS YOU ARE ALIGNED TO A STATION AT 75% IMPULSE (:3)

I disagree -- most suicide runs are done in heavily populated areas. If you avoid those areas -- you can more or less safely jet can mine. In fact, I have rarely been actually flipped -- unless of course, I'm actually looking to be flipped. Thus you can have your cake and eat it too, i.e. tank your ship and have efficiency in mining, by the simple expedient of going to an out of the way system.

As to what can be done by a tanking barge/hulk I give you these:

http://eve.battleclinic.com/killboard/killmail.php?id=13310482

http://point.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=10704722

Neither of these were actually done by me -- but they prove the point that you can avoid the expensive suicide hit and still successfully mine.

Now of course if someone really wants to gank you, they will simply by bringing more ships then your tank can handle. But if you go to an out of the way system, the odds are that you will only come across the occasional causal suicider, which with planing you can easily handle.

Besides, nothing is funnier then a failed suicider's tears.

I don't play, I just fourm warrior.

if u really want to mine in slightly safer circumstances do this

train for a mining barge - retreiver or better

find a l1 agent.... get in a frig or destroyer and start a mission. Make sure its a mission where you fly to an acceleration gate before u fly into the mission. (this helps keep ganker battleships/battlecruisers out most of the time due to acceleration gate restrictions) it wont stop crusiers though.

Clear out all the rats in the mission.... loot and salvage............if there is mineable asteroids present dock up and DO NOT turn in the mission.... jump in your retreiver and (equip combat drones cos new npc rats will spawn but usually only 2 or 3 frigs at a time) warp back to your mission and bookmark something in the mission area immediately.... then open your people and places and shift + drag that new bookmark into your cargo bay..... jettison the bm right on the warp in point (there is a beacon there) this can helps to decloak probers.

once can is dropped move further into the mission area closer to the roids..... mine away in relative safety.......... but be passive aligned to a gate or station

as its a mission area its not possible for a ganker to warp directly on top of u if you get at least 30km away from the warp in beacon. this gives u ample time to see them land in your mission area and for you to warp out

u can even hold that mission site for upto a week cos u get a week to finish the mission but u will need to go in once a day after dt to clear out the mission rats (yes after a dt the mission resets) then on the last day turn in the mission (you lose the 12000 isk time bonus but u got asteroids more or less to yourself for a week and gankers cannot warp directly on top of u if you stay far enough away from the warp in beacon.

Everytime you buy something that says "made in china" you are helping the rising unemployment in your own country unless you are from china, Buy locally produced goods and help create more jobs.

Asteroid belts might have some, but in high-sec, by far your best bet is missions. They're full of red and explodable crosses. Go for Security division agents, since these always provide combat missions.

I can recommend Ministry of Internal Order and Carthum Conglomerate.

Ministry of Internal Order standing gets you into the Amarr epic arc.

Carthum Conglomerate has a good number of 50% facilities stations to refine / reprocess at.
