next stage in plan.. Radar/Mag Sites. and maybe POS

Hi,
My journey into wormholes is well on its way. I have learned how to "safely" scout in WH space, map chains, gather intel and move around stealthy with my cov ops scanner alt.
Also my main combat toon has done anomaly daytriping with the corp so I got a feel for the damage I can take. My drake performed very well and it looks like I could do C2 anoms solo without problems from the sleepers. (meeting a WH pirate is another chapter).

So here are a few questions to prepare my next stage, I want to solo radar/mag sites and maybe setup a POS just for the lulz.

My scanner alt has high hacking and analyzing skills. she is flying a Buzzard, so there is no way she could handle the spawn.
This would mean I have to dualbox. The plan:
- Bring both chars to a site.
- Drake shoots spawn.
- Scanner hacks and analyzes.
Now I guess there will be additional spawn when accessing the containers. What should I do then. Is it possible to burn away
from the spawn with the Buzzard while my Drake shoots the new spawn or will they alpha-pop the Buzzard? Its a very weak
fit.
Also will the Buzzard be able to cloak (given there is no obstacle within range) while being locked and shot at?

With the drake/buzzard combo I was thinking of having 8 light ECM drones out. In case of an attack by a lone stealth bomber I'd
jam him and GTFO. Any chance this would work?

Or is there a better ship setup? The skills are currently not on the same char so a Tengu all-in-one solution is not possible currently.

What loot can be expected from the cans? I hear T3 components worth hundreds of millions (if lucky).

Next topic: POS hiding. Since many wormholes I found have low activity I think the odds of some big wormhole POS buster gang to show up is rather small. Of course I dont want to claim a C2 with high sec and C3 static. I'm talking about the deserted C2's without direct access to K-Space.
Is a POS without force field still accessible? Because when scouting I count POS without force field as abandoned. I read the owner rights still apply. So lets say for short term loot storage(hiding) could one store the loot in a POS without force field? Any random scout flying by would probably not think there is something valuable in a abandoned looking POS right?

thanks.
cheers

Snusk!

Welcome to the exciting world of wormholes! I have been living in a wormhole with a few alts for couple years now.

Here are a few tips I can share:

1. Your portrait scares me. Please change it immediately.
2. You cannot online or anchor anything inside a POS unless it is online (and I think the shield must also be active).
3. 2 toons in a C2 should be plenty to do whatever it is you want to do in the hole.
4. Medium POS with shield hardeners and electronic warfare arrays are a great way to deter POS bashers. Remember, it's not about destroying those attacking you, but making it so tedious and not worthwhile for an enemy to sit there for hours to take it down. Unless it is built in the hole, there are no dreads allowed in C2s.
5. Take out all spawns in a site before hacking/analyzing. Just have your buzzard sit cloaked outside the field of fire ready to get to work.
6. ALWAYS keep your directional scanner open. Hit scan like it's going out of style. Then hit it again. True story: If you say "no whammies, no whammies, no whammes, STOP!" before pressing scan, no enemies will appear.
7. Any sign of trouble, warp back to your POS, hop in a combat ship and warp around system to your safespots. Sometimes that is enough to scare the baddie away. Sometimes.
8. Do some PI in the hole to make your fuel and give you a small passive income. Also, it gives you something to do if anom spawns are slow.
9. Always remember, you WILL lose ships in a WH. But, don't sweat it, the ISK is good enough that replacing it shouldn't be too difficult. Loot comes in many varieties, but in a C2 most of your ISK comes from sleeper bits (the bounties they drop).

I think that's all I have for now. Contact me in game if you have any other questions!

I get that comment in every thread I post.... maybe my portrait will be enough to scare away the sleepers at the sites!

Thanks for the hints. I was planning to clean the sites first with the drake and then come in a hack. But I what about the respawning sleepers while hacking?

Google "Eve Survival". That site will be your bestest friend (it has breakdowns of all sites in WHs). Don't hack a site until all spawns are cleared. Once the last spawn is destroyed, no further sleepers will show up. Just DON'T warp out of the site before hacking all cans or else the site may despawn.

The buzzard will have a low threat profile and probably won't get primaried. So yes you can burn away and cloak or warp off if be aggressed.

"You cannot cloak your ship while being targeted by someone." -Aura

ECM is chance based so yes. Depends on how long you can last against a solo bomber. But tbh a flight of warriors would be more effective against a bomber pilot. ECM drones would be more effective against t3 tackle tho. Either way if your ganker is worth their salt your dead as soon as your pointed...

I have seen sleepers switch targets and pop hacking ships pretty quickly, hence why I always clear the site before my hacking ship comes on. Always better safe than sorry.

Never said I lived WELL in wormhole space :) Those were just some tips I picked up living in a C3 for a long while.
