Deep thoughts: Agents requiring meeting face to face.

I was having a deep thought reading over an agents statement "If you want to talk to me, please meet me in person" and of course having the natural thought that agents must be luddites as they refuse to talk over long distance communications.

But then I realized to my horror that I was not actually meeting the agents face to face in the station because I am stuck in my captains quarters with no key to open the door!

Does that mean the agents have been lying to me about face to face communications the entire time and I have simply been using remote communications anyways, but the agents have been laughing at me because they make me travel long distances just to talk with them over the intercomm. Maybe the agents aren't in the stations that I go to and only taunt me with saying they can't talk without me actually being in the station just to be mean. I have no proof of their real existence since I cannot leave my captains quarters.

Madness.

Looking to talk on VOIP with other EVE players? Are you new and need help with EVE (welfare) or looking for advice? Looking for adversarial debate with angry people?

So....... Youre saying we need to nerf Highsec?

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

All automated intel should be removed from the game including Instant local/jumps/kills/cynos for all systems/regions.Eve should report nothing like this to the client/3rd party software.Intel should not be force fed to players. Player skill and iniative should be the sources of intel.

Yes.

We must share the same insanity, I had this same thought the first time I saw that dialog.

I assume you are looking for the RP element to this insistance to "meet-in-person"? In that case, maybe the need to be in the station in question refers to insuring that a mission brief (which would, I imagine, be comprised of highly sensitive and confidential information) needs to be done in a secure fassion. Maybe communication from a terminal in your captains quarters is regarded as having superior security over the same communications from ship-based comms.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

Missions pretty much suck to begin with and now you want to force players to walk through a station to some NPC dude's office to accept or complete one?

You sadistic bastard...

CCP has no sense of humour.

If you actually READ the mission briefings, specifically the ones involving data reports, you would understand that wireless communication is inherently insecure. Heck, even cloaked wessels vessels still show up in local (wormhole space excluded.)

Ergo, the only secure means of transmitting data is via a physical object. Said object is probably thrown to your CQ from the balcony of the CQ next to you. Which means you have to respect the pitching ability of agents since they have to put a wicked curve on the data object to get it past the privacy wall separating the various CQs.

Its because every capsuleer an agent brings in, the station gives the agent a bigger office.

Now, more than ever, we need a dislike button.

It's even worse than this. In "The Burning Life" an agent admitted to another agent the use of AI to talk to capsuleers (because she was stoned out of her gourd).

This is a good excuse to open the door, some Missions should require you to Le gasp! actually walk through the station to the agent, while Others you can just do the old way, But hey this is unfair for the Anti WiS people!.....

Rather than opening another WiS thread (if this is what it is), you would do better to post your support in one of the current threadnaughts filled to the brim with support that CCP are ignoring. I think one of them is already the second biggest thread on the entire forum... Maybe if it becomes the biggest thread CCP will pull their fingers out of their collective asses and actually do something about it.

That is historically inaccurate. Leonidas I was a 5th Century BC King of Sparta, yet in your picture he is wearing a Dale Earnhardt T-Shirt, and Dale Earnhardt T-shirts weren't invented until the 4th Century BC.

I like this idea, pleaze make it a city that one has to navigate through with thousands of rooms, like a real city, each station individualy designed, and you have to search every room to find the agent, after every mission, every time. This sounds brilliant! OH and make the agent walk around as if it has errands to do.
