[GMVA] Statement of No Confidence: FIO Director Mentas Blaque

Good evening, everyone.

Following internal deliberations and discussion in GMVA Leadership on the FIO Administrator, SDII, Thoun Gatarau's demand that I step down from the Executorship of the Villore Accords, the alliance responds: No.

What follows is our combined voice and opinion on the current perilous situation between the Minmatar Republic and the Gallente Federation.

Over the course of the past several weeks, the crisis between the Republic and Federation has spiralled out of control into open armed conflict in the system of Colelie just yesterday.

While it is strictly true that the Federation forces inside the system fired in self-defense, we must look to what brought us to the knife's edge.

The Federal Intelligence Office holds the only suspect in the assassination of the Ray of Matar, Karin Midular, former Prime Minister of the Republic, and leader of her tribe.

The FIO under direction of Mentas Blaque, has offered no information or the slightest amount of cooperation with the Republic regarding the tragic incident.

When the crisis escalated with the Republic Fleet on the move, a desperate peace initiative was started by many capsuleers, such as Grideris and others, along with my Freedom of Information request, to attempt to diffuse the situation.

Mentas Blaque did not move one inch in his position.

The Minmatar, enraged by this, entered Colelie.

What followed was a series of unprofessional, clearly antagonistic statements from Federation representatives inside of the Colelie system against the Republic forces present. No response was given to any Capsuleer peace effort on either side.

While the Republic fired first, it was Mr. Blaque who had set the kindling in place for this bonfire.

His lack of transparency, lack of accountability due to no strong Senate oversight, and clear disregard for our alliance with the Minmatar Republic, leads us to make the following statement.

The GMVA and those who support below, declare an opinion of no confidence in Mentas Blaque as director of the Federal Intelligence Office. We request President Jacus Roden immediately suspend the Director so that he can do no further harm to the peace between the Federation and the Republic.

At this time of war, we hardly need more enemies.

We also request that the Federation cooperate with the Republic on the nature of Karin Midular's killer, as a gesture of good faith. This is only logical, as we can only rebuild trust by first extending an olive branch.

It is time for a new man to be in charge of the FIO, and a new era of transparency that engenders trust and friendship, instead of paranoia and hostility.

Thank you, and may the Fates guide the Federation.

I would say it's not merely Blaque that comprises the problem, but his position that could be filled by or attractive to anybody with his kind of disposition (which in my opinion is that of a control freak).

Just what is the authority of his position and why is it not under control of our elected government?

Was it due to war with the Caldari State that his advanced "authority" exists? Well then, we were at war with the Republic yesterday, and much to Blaque's credit.

The FIO under Blaque is an element that is becoming insurgent to our free state and the operation of representative government.

I have good standing with FIO and will be making some inquiries. This statement has my full support.

Monsieur Blaque and his gendarmerie of FIO thugs threaten everything our Federation stands for.

As a loyal militia officer and Federation citizen, I add my support to this statement of no confidence.

Soter stands on the shore with the GMVA at his back. Together they state their opinion that the tide shall not come in today.

Do mind your shoes. I think they are going to get wet.

I vote no confidence in Mentas Blaque. He is a traitor to the Federation that he stands for, and has tranish the relation ship of between the Federation and the Republic.

I seek that he should be be removed from office at once.

The war with the Caldari and The Amarr is trouble enough.

By stubbornly ignoring the pleas and demands of our greatest ally we have put ourselves on shaky ground indeed. Fighting a three front war due to bad diplomacy could end everything, we in the militia, have fought for. Everything that the Gallente stands for and the Matari as well could end up being a footnote in the history book of some Amarr/Caldari Text book.

They will not remember us well.

We need new leadership, and the current man in power needs to face criminal charges against the federation.

Our Federation is, ostensibly, a democracy. The tide of public opinion is notoriously fickle, and in this case, the tide fears the FIO as much as the Provists. Many citizens remember what happened to Monsieur Blaque when he ran for the presidency on an anti-Minmattar platform.

You may yet be surprised by who gets swept away by this storm.

The joke is on you here, cause we dont wear shoes.

As members of the Federation we welcome the tides of change and the tides freedom. We stand oppossed to the tide of hate that Blaque wishes to bring. While you say we are powerless against the tide I would like to remind you that the tide is created by the moon and we will destory it to stop it if we need to.

Im no fan of the FIO, and believe they are guilty of crimes against humanity.

The FIO works for the goverment. Any information will be passed on to the President Roden. Depending on security of the information it will go straight to the President for his eyes only or maybe minister beforehand. Im sure he is advised by the FIO the Senate and ministers about what action should be taken, but the final decision will be the President Roden.

For example at Colelie yesterday im sure it would of been Rodens orders only to open fire if fired upon, and Rodens orders after being advised by the FIO and Senate not to release any information into the public domain regarding Karin Midular.

A point of curiosity,

Just how polite should one be after your borders are violated by a fleet of hostile capital ships with unknown intent?

As polite as possible without giving ground. I understand that the Gallente gave ground here, but until weapons are fired things need to be handled cordially. Those capital ship pilots were responsible for countless lives that day and more than that based on what happens as a result.

It is my belief that the FIO Under Thoun Gatarau's command should be considered a rouge element without an official statement from our government endorsing his action and affirming that our government is fully knowledgeable of what the FIO is doing, and in control.
Due to the assumed status of the FIO, all FIO ships and pilots are hereby deemed KOS for all GSTR pilots when outside of concord patrolled space. Any outstanding contracts, agreements, business orders, debts or bills are considered null and void. Any attempt to collect on such will be viewed with the same light as any other unlawful organization making demands.

I ask that Thoun Gatarau be put on trial, and when he is found guilty that his assets and holdings go to the families of the men and women that died as a direct result of his actions.

Only once we show that all are equal before the law can the healing begin. Only when we hold all people to the same standards can we consider ourselves citizens off democracy.

More public posturing with no real weight to throw around.

And you wondered in a previous thread why your organisation wasn't contacted by the FIO regarding needing aid on the border?

For the most part, the Minmatar refugees have been a burden and a harassment to the local privateer Gallente.

Good read.

Monsieur Blaque and FIO are a threat to the Gallente/Minmatar alliance.
As a loyal militia man, I fully support this statement of no confidence. Blaque should stand down!

Ha!

Someone enters your home with a loaded weapon, violates your space uninvited, and you wish to be cordial?

Do you pilot a short spaceship about your business? Did you attend a "special" capsuleer school?

Their intent was perfectly clear, or they would have sent a shuttle.
