Feedback is always welcome. We look at as much of it as we can, and though we do not always respond it every request / bit of feedback, you can rest assured that we hear you. The darkening of the hulls is a rather complex problem, which is tied to the lighting system in EVE. As it stands at the moment, and how it's been since EVE released, a lot of the "light" on the ship is the reflection of the nebula. With the introduction of more black space into the nebula backgrounds, things tend to go darker. If you reflect black, you're gonna get black. Yes, we could compensate for that now by readjusting the shader values to make ships brighter, but that is a lot of work, and we wouldn't even be halfway through that before we can start implementing our new lighting system, at which point we'd have to do all that work again. The range between our brightest and darkest nebula also makes compensating using the shader settings very difficult, as what works in one doesn't always work for all.

With only the stations and other world objects left to undergo the V3 treatment, the lighting system will be getting the love it needs very soon.
Can you tell the design intent behind stripping much of the green paint off the Gallente V3 caps, most notably the Erebus? Maybe it's time to introduce perhaps two shades of green if you're concerned with too much of one color, although the Amarr have never suffered from a lack of gold. But seriously, looking more at Amarr hulls in particular, they have several shades of golden hue that you guys select from. It would have been nice to see some more green on the biggest of the green-hulled ships as well as less block-gray coloring for Caldari. For Matar, the rust, well, looks like rust, which is good. ;)

Enter grid and you're already dead, destined to be reborn and fight another day.

This, the current gallente colorscheme is extremelly dull

And the capitals seriously look like they aren't finished.. its just bare metal.. Aren't Gallente supposed to have style?

Orca is so damn dark. Why did you change it?

I took a look at the Orca. It seems that the V3 process on it had stalled, and thus it was incomplete. I've corrected the error and it should be fixed for the Odessy release.

But alas, CCP feels that they know best, and i have yet to notice even a single occurrence of them taking player feedback on the 'art' side and actually making a change...moreso when the typical response to feedback to anything under the art departments realm is "Art is not seeking feedback on this..." So i'm not hopeful for any change in this pattern of darker and darker hulls. I mean, it is 'spreasheets in space' anyways, so why should we really care if we can actually see our ships in the first place?

Could I please get my skillpoints back for the Citadel Launchers and Citadel Torpedoes that I committed a ton of training time to that I can no longer use?

There are a few things still missing on the Rorqual and some bugs I see:

  • When the Rorqual is in siege it stands upright. The top most pipe used to blow smoke. That disappeared in Trinity.
  • The boosters ( The two pipes on either side at the front of the Rorqual used to blow fire when the Rorqual went into siege. This is gone.
  • The Rorqual also had pulleys and chains that moved up and down when the door was open as a result of siege.
  • The Rorqual also has like 4 small blocks that don't seem to move when the Rorqual changes shape. Something is not moving with the effect.

Those effects were removed in the Trinity expansion. Would be awesome to see them back on a probably the most dynamic effects ship in the game.

Love the new Exploration lights in front though ;)

Some thoughts.

Incase your still looking at this thread...

One thing that has really annoyed me as of late is chatting while docking...then all of a sudden, i'm docked, and all of my inventory disappeared...

Oh yeah, thats right, the game instantly though i want my attention on my inventory "filter" and all my typing when into there....

Can you please fix this. Stop directing everything to the inventory. If we want it, we know where to click...

Good, the last thing CCP should do is take design cues on an extremely subjective subject from a bunch of people who doesn't agree with each other, many who can't even tell the difference between maroon and brown, and the large majority of which has zero artistic talent to begin with.

May 8th. Another small path. Zero patch notes about it. Can you at least acknowledge the problem mentioned here?

New, improved ship hangers are great, well done CCP.

Please add some colour to the Gallente hangers to make them even better.

Hangar graphic is great!

But I still can't se myself standing on the balcony. I can't even see the balcony... someone said earlier in the thread that except for Amarr stations I should be able to spot it, but I really can't find it.

CCP, you have to agree that the addition of the captains quarter balcony would be awesome!

For my taste the objects (ships, stations, stargates, ...) look a bit dull because they are all the same grey. Hopefully the new light system brings more shades and colors for objects to look more interesting. How about some skins you can buy for your ship? Would like to see a black op ship made of shining black metal or a shuttle made of white material. Just my 2 cents...

Don't know if it's a bug or intended, but it hasn't been mentioned much. Sentries now face backwards, and the "guns" became engines... for drones that don't move

I don't know if it was mentionned before, but Eve Online and Dust 514 Players cannot speak via EveVoice on Corporation Channels, but they can on private chans ... Isn't this really sad and buggy ? Smile

I'm quoting myself until the ends of times unless if someone at CCP dare to answer me Big smile

destroying the TVU without changing this isn't really usefull.

Anyone else noticing how abysmal trading in Jita is these days. If you try and sell something to a buy order - especially things like Tritanium - the popup asking for price/quantity takes forever to display. Is there some sort of record locking contention issue? 30 secs to 1 min is not acceptable. Never notice these issues elsewhere like Amarr say.

I also notice the following error messages occurring in the Console output from time to time since 1.2
