So I've tested the new probe window, and while the formations are really cool, the functionality is severely lacking.

- It's now impossible to resize the columns in probe results. Most people (or at least, I did) minimized the 'Ship ID', 'Ship' and often even 'Ship class'. For combat probing the only worthwhile columns are 'Ship type' and 'Distance'

- Speaking of the distance column, it's entirely gone. I hope this is a bug -- if not, it kills the entire pvp metagame. F.e. bombing will be impossible and tier3 snipers will dominate everything

- It's also not possible to sort results by any column. The usual way to have probe results setup is sorted by distance close>far or far>close.

- The colors are very bright and distracting, it also doesn't line up with any other interface in Eve. Not a big fan of this.. although I do like the way percentage is shown by the length of the colored bar (just tone down the colors a bit)

- The 'warp to' button is a bit silly, hardly anyone will do a personal warp to a result at 0. Most of the times a covops will warp at distance to not get decloaked, or someone would warp squad/wing/fleet. If in most cases a right click is required anyway, why waste so much space on a 'warp to 0' button?

- Looks like 'Ignore result' and 'Ignore other results' are either reversed or just bugged in general. Results definitely aren't being hidden like they should be.

- For the love of christ let us center the camera in the probe map on celestials from the overview again. This was changed a while ago and it sucks. CCP Karkur made some inquiries to this change, but I don't know if it's on the list to put back in the client. Previously a single click on a celestial on the overview (stations, planets, moons, everything) centered the camera on it

- Probe formations are cool and useful. Dragging the entire probe set without holding shift is good too.

This interface really needs work before it's actually an improvement...

Update:

- It's almost impossible to tell which probe result has been selected. The color difference is minimal and the bars constantly sliding into the screen are way too distracting.

Oh god this... a member of my alliance took a screenshot http://i.imgur.com/4KK99GX.jpg

Being able to see the distance to a target is MANDATORY for pvp many times there are multiple fleets of the same ship types on the grid that you need to know distance to distinguish them if you hadn't already ignored the results of your own fleet. And not being able to sort columns makes it extremely complicated to find the one ship that you want to warp to if you don't have a filter for every possible ship class.

This feature needs a lot of work prior to being released.

Not a fan of taking the old ice belts, removing them, then putting them essentially back in the same place, as a "hidden" public beacon that every. single. ship. can warp to with NO effort in locating it.

How is that even "exploring"?

Its really just the same thing as setting my overview to "show asteroid belt on overview" instead of ships and gates...but even easier, b/c it i didn't even have to do anything, i just undock/jumped and it by itself tells me "there is an ice belt over there, would you like to warp to it?"

If you are going to make them part of your "exploration" theme, alteast require something....maybe make this new 'system scanner" a module that you have to fit on your ship for being able to scan down all these sites without ever launching a probe?

First major gripe.

Just as a heads up, the "no distance on scan results" thing is a bug as per here; https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=233600

That scanner sweep animation for the onboard scanner should definitely be used for directional scanner as well to better visualize the actual angle being scanned (maybe in orange to easier see the difference). Or does it happen? Didn't show for me.

Radial Menus seem a little sticky, like my mouse has been traped in glue. Also, I don't really like the fact it takes 2 clicks to get to my DScan (once on scanner button, once on DScan side). I like getting to my information quickly as possible :)

This too....once activated, its a bit tricky to quickly get OUT of radial menu w/o randomly clicking something...like "eject" or "unlock" or even "Orbit at 100k"....might want to look into the actual usability of this new feature...

Maybe change the 'dwell' on the menu pop-up so it doesn't popup the INSTANT the mouse is depressed when clicking on things in space.

I don't see any where else for this so.

The Navy Drake shows as a BPC in the LP store and in your ship hangar when you first buy it. Also none of the navy BC's are seeded yet.

How does one abort an undock now that there is no bar and abort button? Dead feature?

If you resize the probes with a drag, the range in the scanner doesn't update until you hit scan. likewise if you change the size from the menu. They change on screen, but the range doesn't update.

The pinpoint formation is nice :) though if you resize the probes from the menu, it doesn't recentre them.

Probes don't have any duration any more? (I hadn't seen that update)

You can only launch 7 probes at a time, rather than being able to poke by with less and using skills to compensate.
If you try launching again, it says that you're already controlling 6 probes, which is the max for your skills (astrometrics 3 atm) looks like a missed error message.

Woo! CSM XI!

When undocking, if you have Ui tab open, you don't know at all if you had clicked undock or not until you're out, as the only indication is on the middle bottom of the screen.
That can be dangerous, like hitting the undock button by mistake on a camped station, and only realizing it when you're dead.

When jumping having the browser open, the frame of it disappears but the page remains, intended?

If you click jump and then dont move the camera around with mouse, land in other system and in overview warp off(don't move the camera)... when you warp off the camera twists strangely, it's like it's focused on the area between your ship and the gate you came in from, intended?

I've only been on this new build for a little while but I have to take this opportunity to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone involved in the new Apocalypse/Paladin model.

Finally it has enough bulk to convey its mass and power and it really does look like a premiere holy war machine: intimidating but also with the graceful signature Amarrian curves that make the race such a pleasure to look at.

It is literally the most beautiful ship I have ever seen in EVE and is absolutely perfect - there's nothing about it I don't love from a graphical viewpoint.

Seriously, great work guys you've done an amazing job!
