[NN] Message to the Faithful: Chaos

Greetings to the Faithful Across New Eden

Today's Lesson:

While not one of my order's 5 pillars, Chaos can still be powerful agent of change, opportunity, and personal growth.

Yesterday's events should show all of you Sabik True Believers what a powerful agent this can be in the right hands, and under your control.

Pressure applied to the right points... the right people drawn to anger, retribution, and acrimony. Reactions and judgement to be stoked like embers before a roaring fire. The key for you believers is to see these strings ahead of time; to know which ones should be pulled. And which to cut.

The ensuing fires you create give you opportunity for profit, advancement of your agendas, and the space to settle scores and rivalries.

Observe and take note the Chaos of Midular's death; the frothing surrounding the circumstances, and the rising and falling stocks of the affected parties. Learn it well.

We close today with a passage from the Sacred Apocrypha, words of wisdom from long dead Lord Balesh:

Chaos isn't a pit.
Chaos is a ladder.
Many who try to climb it fail and never get to try again.
The fall breaks them.
And some are given a chance to climb, but they refuse.
They cling to their Empires or their Gods or love.
Illusions.
Only the ladder is real.
The climb is all there is

Lord Balesh, Gospel of Power 35:42

O Chaos!
Tyrants' blood and baker's dough,
You are both and neither, reach
from blackened stars and stellar cradles
towards the end, and the beginning.

Death and birth are found within you,
love and loss within stochastic folds
of unseen fates and spinners threads.
You have one path, indivisible and free.

We are too blind to see your bright line,
We are too bound to touch your sharp refrain.
We cannot hear your melody unbound
that brings such joy to some; to others, pain.

Slip thermodynamic chains and soar,
Bring death and glory, birth and solitude.
Bring love, bring hate, and all things in between,
The winds do not abate, may they ever scour and soothe.

Chaos is a matter of poor perspective.

When in the middle of a violent, tumultuous change, its easy to feel as though the foundations of the world have shattered. If one can step back though, one sees that personal and social actions are the results of deep patterns. There is always an order to things.

A good analogy would be an earthquake. The crust of a planet moves in an observable, predictable way. We've come to the point where a geologist can tell you that an earthquake will very likely happen in a specific area 100 years from now. But if you were standing there when that earthquake finally hit? Chaos!

Render unto Khanid the things which are Khanid's; and unto God the things that are God's.

The ability to utilise chaos is a talent of no small value. To rely on it, however, is foolish. Chaos, by its nature, cannot be controlled or tamed. To create chaos is easy, as this gunman has shown; but no one man could hope to govern what has resulted from it. Chaos is like a rabid drooler; it can rip your enemies apart and tear down obstacles in your path, if you tease it in the right way, but you never know when it will turn and rip your hand off.

Certainly chaos is a matter of perspective - but who, Lady Vitalia, Lady Hanaya, can truly be said to sit so high and see so clear as to render all chaos as order?

The only man who could come close to claiming that would be the abomination Sansha, and I think even he would be lying were he to do so.

Far from Chaos, I think that was the most highly orchestrated self destruction of CONCORD signatories I've seen in a long while.

Chaos is only an excuse for the unexplainable. Chaos is not really chaos since everything follows patterns, models, and rules.

Okay, I'm lost.

Are we all repeating each-other because we're just that trite or is this some kind of ironic parody about the fact that the OP's message was a touch unoriginal?

Silas, I'm not convinced that the IGS is the best medium for this type of message. Do you ever give live sermons?

Thread title: Message to the Faithful

I don't imagine you are the target audience.

On a side note an interesting aspect of our beliefs is that many times those who agree with what we follow must remain in secret (at least among the Amarr), at least until they are ready to step forward. Some of you would be quite shocked at the loyalist identities of those sending me private mails of approval.

Those of us out in the open are obliged to continue our work and let them into the fold when they are ready. These sorts of communiques can be beacons for those still questing for spiritual enlightenment and personal fulfillment.

A live sermon to capusleers is an interesting idea, although it might not take a format you would expect.

Oh?

I'm sorry, I think I must be missing something. How am I not?

That's valid, I'd definitely be more interested in the aforementioned sermon however.

As far as I can tell the only blood you spilled was as an actor, cheapening our beliefs for mass consumption to the rabble. You should consider to atone for this.

That being said if you give me reason to treat you otherwise then I will do so.

I've had this song & dance before.

However, I'm willing to give a shot at the latter statement instead of upholding the IGS tradition of whining for several pages. So, let's see, shall we?

Looking forward to it. I'm available to be contacted privately should you wish to speak on these issues.
