SUBJECT SAYS IT ALL.
I have Basically no Minm stuff besides Frig IV and Cruiser III(about 5 days till i can fly the mach) Gallente BS is at level I.
I DO have the skills for a good Faction Tengu.

ISK is not a problem, and I am wondering how long it will take to get Both BS's to V and all the relevant skills for the good mach fit.

Or If i should just stick with a Faction Fitted Tengu overall.
Using HML's and Deadspace mods, and CNBCU. Blah blah blah

Thanks all,

How long would it take for all the mach training?

No idea, check EVEMon and EFT to create a training plan.

if you want both BS skills at V and T2 large guns plus good gunnery support skills, i'd say about 4-5 months at least. the tengu is by no means exceptional but it gets the job done, especially when the mission can be blitzed.

I should buy an Ishtar.

Getting the BS skills to V to get the most out of the Mach is the bulk of the training, but even with BS IVs I think the Mach will still outperform a fully skilled Tengu, however it is about to get nerfed by the TE nerf and the Mach is probably in for another nerf so I'd say hold out till the dust settles.

Tengu is easier for travelling in low/null.
Mach requires a scout alt imo.
Even after the nerf, Tengu can do the job. HAMs anyone?

Behind a blue firewall a mach will always out perform a tengu in angel anomos i tried both and got rid of the tengu for the anoms

But is it worth the months to train?

Op, judging by your ample use of smileys, I think a tengu would suit you.

LOL took them off just for you. Now can you answer the question.
I am looking for a good opinion and state why you think so.

Given the changes and rate of changes I would say hold off.

Who knows what the mach will look like after all the changes. And they haven't even started on the pirate hulls. They could be up to anything. Just look at the poor geddon.

My 2c would be start with projectiles. Get those trained to T2 large. Then reevaluate the benefit of going on.

Then train min BS to 5. That opens up options for the various alpha ship doctrines.

Finally train up any last support skills for guns if you need a last place to stall. Once you've invested in gal bs without drones and blasters. Well your stuck with the mach at that point.

Also there is/was a lot of talk about overhaul of the anoms and sites. Or was that all just rumor?

Well, thank you and I love you too !

I would still fly a Mach over a tengu, even with bs4. T2 guns would be something I would train for asap.

Also go by the advice given out by Zhilia Mann(spelling). He knows his ships.

e: reason? Mach is as fast as a tengu and does a ****ton more dps. And don't worry about the te nerf, it's still a worthwhile ship to get.

Tengu is not great against angels... I would go with the mach. With both BS to 4 and T1 meta 4 guns, faction gyro's and faction ammo you will be doing round 900 paper dps.. stuff will just die... obviuosly you want the gunnery skills up to at least 4.
In the end they will cost about the same but the mach will outperform the tengu.

I can't believe this question is even being asked. Comparing a mach to a tengu is like comparing an ishtar to a vexor. Sure the tengu is a good ship.... it's just not good for much.

The whole point to running havens and sanctums is to A: make isk B: get escalations. Being that the Mach runs havens and sanctums 3 times faster than any tengu means A: three times more isk B: 300% better chance of getting escalations.

Sure, I forget a lot of the math skills I learned in high school but this here is basic math we all learn in elementary.

I'll admit that I don't rat much, but unless Angel rats neut and web an active tanked HAMgu might be an option while you train for that Machariel.

If you have good skills in Missiles and can be bothered to read the changes in cruise missiles that are coming you might find good reason to train Caldari BS V (instead of Gallente and Minm)... 'CNR' or as you call them these days Raven Navy Issue. Should reach the 1k dps mark by missiles alone sufficiently blinged after the changes if I am reading the info right...

As for webing... angel rats seemed to rat a lot when I was last in their space but thats a long time ago so meh...
