And for a real reply have you checked out evemon? http://community.eveonline.com/news/dev-blogs/73563 http://evemon.battleclinic.com/index.php you can view ships and it gives you the required skills to fly them as well as the recommended certificates (skill plans)

Basically flying logi is pretty good equivalent to your typical 'healer' in usual MMOs, meaning:
- a) most people don't like to do it
- b) people tend to blame you when they die to their stupidity
- c) most people tend to be ignorant of basic rules how RR works leading to b)
- d) you don't kill stuff and as default don't show on killmails (and many EVE players live for killmails), leading to a)
- e) you tend to operate 'behind the scenes', there is massive lack of thankfulness toward healers (annoying undeserved) -> a) :)
However if you enjoy it, better world for everyone :)

1. Is this correct? Am I thinking of the right ship?
- yup; just keep difference between armor and shield ships and fleets in mind and specialize in one (at start, good idea to be able to do both eventually); people use both, but armor is generally preferred at capital ship level (and sometimes in large fleets, on battleship level), while shield is often preferred on smaller ships and in smaller gangs [neither is hard rule however]

2. Would I be seen as even remotely valuable to a corp.?
- yup, high end PvE tends to depend on RR setups, all levels of PvP benefit greatly from it (with few exceptions such as fleets designed to kill stuff in one shot (often referred to as alpha doctrine)); generally 1 RR ship will repair significantly more then 1 DPS ship can dish out (and often for lower cost and at better range); also effect gets more pronounced with tech 2 and tech 3 ships and logi ships tend to have quite good sinergy with each other - generally 2 RR ships > 2 x 1 RR ship
- as a soft rule, RR frigs are not mainstream (but are quite useful despite it), RR cruisers are
- also as a rule of thumb, single RR pilot > single damage dealer pilot

3. Which skills would be top priority?
- basic fitting skills, cap skills, RR skills, ships you intend to fly; basically get all to 4 then focus on getting them5 one by one; keep yourself at cruisers and frigs for a while before jumping to Tech 2

Pretty much everything useful already posted.

When roaming in a small gang and there is a logistics on the field, be prepared to get primaried. A LOT. Without the ability to maneuver your logistics around the fleet, not losing lock to a fleetmate and pull the agressor into another ships optimal, you will die. A LOT.

And like another poster said before. Logi 5 - everybody loves you.

Team Fotress 2 solved this problem. I love playing medic in that game because when I turn off my medi-gun the heavies yell out 'THANK YOU DOCTOR'

also 'ENGINEER IS CREDIT TO TEAM'

so here is the deal. Logistics can be an awesome backbone to both PVP and PVE fleets. It is an awesome route to skill down.

Since it is the backbone, it is often best to have your most skilled pilots (sp and pilot skill) in the role, so while you are training into the role you may find yourself bumped out into another role to round out the gang better. So you need to make your skillset generally useful. You didn't say pvp or pve nor did you provide a link for your current skills, and the logi path I recommend works for both. The other roles bit is for a pvp focus and would depend on what you already have skilled

Frigate class logi is pretty specific to frigate pvp fleets ... . I wouldn't worry about it. The t1 cruisers are worthwhile, but you will want to cross train multiple races.

be able to fit this with gallente cruiser min 4, cap skills at minimum 4, armor comp skills at minimum 3, sensor comp minimum 3, targetting min 3, remote armor repair systems at min 4 :

Quote:
[Exequror, T2]
1600mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I
Damage Control II
Capacitor Power Relay II
Armor Kinetic Hardener II
Armor Explosive Hardener II
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II

Cap Recharger II
Cap Recharger II
Cap Recharger II
10MN Afterburner II

Medium 'Solace' Remote Bulwark Reconstruction
Medium 'Solace' Remote Bulwark Reconstruction

Medium Ancillary Current Router I
Medium Ancillary Current Router I
Medium Trimark Armor Pump I

Hornet EC-300 x5
Warrior II x5

then cross train into other races, start with amarr cruiser to 4 - the armor and cap transfer amarr cruiser augoror with energy emission systems at min 4 is a good first step since you can already use armor tank and armor transfer modules. Then train minmatar cruiser to 4 and add shield emission systems to 4 for the scythe. Then train into a t2 logi for whatever your corp uses more which is likely the minmatar scimi, caldari basi, or amarr guardian. Unfortunately the gallente one is bad and so not used. After wards the penutlimate step for a logi pilot would be a triage carrier. Even after you get to a t2 logi that would be a solid 6 months of dedicated skill training away.

So now for the making yourself useful in other roles. Likely as you are training into the exequror you will want to pick up other relevant skills so you can useful sit in other ships. You'll want armor tank, shield tank, mwd, propulsion jamming modules. You'll want skills to fly frigates and possibly interceptors or AFs in the tackle or scout role. You'll want t2 medium guns and battlecruisers to fill in the damage role. This also depends on what gangs your corp typically runs.
