Event Idea

Hey m8s!
I’d like your opinion about an event idea that have in my mind.

The first Saturday of every month, let’s say, a special designed holy NPC ship will arrive in one of the four faction’s major trading hub. That ship has to be defended by the faction alliances, meaning amarr+caldari or gallente+matar, depending on the hub.

This holy for the defenders ship, will not shoot during the fight, and its armor will be somehow analogous to the number of defenders, and therefore would be pointless to attack it before you eliminate them.

This ship, by having a special ability to control gates and docks, will close the space for combat-spaceships larger than cruisers (with a 12 (?) hour warning on the players to remove from the area their bigger ships, in the case they want them to be used somewhere else during the event). In this fight, only frigs, dessies and cruisers (of any tech) would be able to participate, and therefore every rookie would be able to participate with –almost- full capabilities.

The holy ship, governed by the spirit of justice, will protect all the capsules, and therefore the players will be able after a ship lost, to run, take a new one (being fitted during the previous days, docked around and ready), and dive in fight again.
The fight will take place for four –let’s say- hours. After that, if the holy ship stays alive, it will fly for one full month in slow, spectacular orbits, around that trading hub, giving special abilities to the hub, the event participants, the factions winners and the killing blower. These would be (i.e):

a) For the hub, 5-10% less taxes in trading.
b) For the industrial lines of the winner’s faction areas 30% increase in industrial lines number (manufacturing, research, etc)
c) For the winner functions, 5% bonus in professions for all the pilots of that fuction (in mining speed or manufacturing speed, or PI extraction etc)
d) For the final blow pilot, as it is actually a lottery, a special gift of any kind.
e) For every participant a Medal of Honor, increasing his sec status by 1.0, and the NPC agents’ status gain as well as the amount of LP gain during missions by 5%, for the next month.
f) For the losers, a “bitter lemon” award for every ship they lost. These bitter lemons, as a symbol of pain, hate, and willing for revenge, would be used to enhance the dmg of the players ammo by 1% in a ratio 1 bitter lemon/10.000 of ammo of their choice (or cycles for laser users).

The players will be able to privet loot their kills for 12 hours after the event, then the wrecks disappear. After a month, a holy ship will arrive in an opposite function’s hub. If stays alive, the one on the previous hub disappears. If not, the previous remains.

With this event, we will have every month cheap and continuous massive pvp for all players in high sec, mobility of items around the Empire, boost in manufacture and trading, loots and fun! Blow things up ffs!!

So I need your opinion. What do you think??Smile

PS. Apologies for any mistakes in my English, it is not my mother tongue. I am less than 2 months in the game so I may have made mistakes regarding the game mechanics and therefore the above numbers –at least- are hypothetical.

Personally, great idea...but not in a major trade hub...especially Jita...they would be TiDi'd to hell and we dont want what will only turn into a mass onslaught of pilots happening every month in major trade hubs... Well some pilots wont Twisted

Edit: Although, I would probably rethink some of the rewards...

It's human nature to want to explore. To find your line and go beyond it. The only limit, is the one you set yourself.
