fighting in eve seems to be cool however most of the time i would like to see the opponents ship in a closeup, you could add a target cam window, where you see the target you highlighted all the time, would give some action to it, and not just shooting at dots on the screen, i want to see that opponents ship and how my Missiles bomb the **** out of it, the look at funcion does not work properly as i want to keep an eye on my ship at the same time...

between "look at" and camera tracking...

what exactly do you want? because from what i understand of your small wall of text, it's already in the game.

Better yet, engine trails should be brighter and visible from a longer distance so we don't have to zoom all the way in to see what direction they're going in.

Actually a very good idea. But I do wonder if ccp has the ability(either money/people) to implement few best important features/problem fixes in the coming year. so this one might be.....

god you people here, I want a window like the ship preview window where you can look at the ship but live, so you see the target you locked on and how it tries to escape your shots, you can put that window in the right corner or something, on the main screen you still have your own ship all the time

the window i would think about would be a closeup all the time so you could see the engine trails as well and where it is heading to

What use will this have, other than taking up screen space that could have been used better.

that is easy, it would just be the "look at" function that you could open up in a window, that can be programed in 10 minutes

you see your target and where it is heading too, you also have a better Feeling when you hit the target as you see it closeup, adds Immersion, you could decide how big that window would be, like the ship preview window but just with live action in it, just the ship what you highlighted/targeted

I support that idea. Exactly my thoughts. It is inconvenient to use "look at" or "zoom in" during combat because you are loosing direct control over your ship. That is why 99.9% of the time players see only white brackets and red crosses during combat.

I wonder if any of you have played the old game called "Star Trek Armada 2" which had the really good view combat window. Here you can see it on the video in the bottom-right of the screen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZ0Nx6U_dgc

So to sum up, my suggestion is to add an optional combat view window (which can be resized and closed).

imagination has no bearing on how useful it is (or in this case, isn't).

Yeah ok so you want a picture in picture feature like is on tv

A small box showing the other ship isn't going to help much since you won't be able to see anything else around it to give you a point of reference for it's direction in relation to your ship, you'll just see the ship turning and spinning.

Sounds like you need to get a bigger monitor to be honest.

this would be a closeup of the targeted ship so you see exactly where it is going to as well as you see explosions... monitor issue? not sure why you do not understand my idea, it was explained pretty straight forward... look at the link someone posted on top
