Just thought I'd mention to keep with the OP's original instructional purpose : Make sure you max out your insurance.

Greetings all from the fresh face of [OLOOK]. The humble Thrasher is indeed a sexy beast when it comes to the impromptu gank.


First though you need to set yourself up. If you want to see what it's like then grab yourself a buddy account and activate it, do this with either a plex or cash and just apply the game time to another account - this way it won't cost you anything.

Second thing is redeem the cerebral accelerator and consume it, then buy and train cybernetics 1 and whack in some +3 implants and a squire PG3.

Third step is to remap to Int/Mem and train straight for thermodynamics. This will also give you engineering 5 which will give you a much needed boost when it comes to fitting (in combination with the PG3).


Once that is done swap over to Per/Will and train the minimum requirements for the below fit:

You'll need the PG3 you plugged in during step two to get it to fit but with just the pre-reqs you'll still be pumping out around 850 volley to which you can add the cerebral accelerators sexy +20% damage bonus for something in the order of 1k. After a week of training you should have added destroyers 3, small projectile 4 and rapid firing 4 to the pre-reqs which will give you a volley of 1030 boosted to 1236.

*Note that for ganking T1 industrials and mining barges Fusion is better than EMP.

That means that you should be popping Retreivers in 2 volleys and overloaded your RoF is 7.5 seconds. 3 volleys will take down the usual cargo fit T1 industrials.


When and where? Find a Retreiver (or lolProcurer) in a 0.5 or a 0.6 and go nuts. The ship is cheap enough that even without insurance a drop of a single T1 strip miner will more than cover it.

If you dream of dropping a T1 industrial (seriously, I saw a badger mk1 carrying a full tengu mission set leave Jita via Sodasucki) for fat profits you will need a friend along. Whilst you can do the damage before CONCORD shows up you are gonna have to do it at a gate or station and that means sentry guns! These things will pop you before you get the second shot off, but they take time to switch targets. So grab a mate in the same fit, one of you plays sacrifice and only chambers 1 round of ammo (protip: this should be the guy doing the scooping) and the other loads the usual 3. Sacrifice will need to hit first and this can be easily achieved by dropping the scan res scripts out of the second guys SeBo's or just wait on the confirmation box until he fires.

Edit: Did I mention that you have a scan res of above 1200? No? Well you do.
