Tibus Heth offer of Caldari aid to Sebiestor Tribe rejected

Quote:
New Caldari – Tibus Heth has offered the Sebiestor Tribe access to Caldari medical technology for the treatment of comatose Tribal Chief Karin Midular, but has been turned down after “careful deliberation” by tribal leaders.

In a public statement, Tibus Heth offered “the full swath of Caldari medical expertise to the Sebiestor Tribe in order to bring about a positive resolution to this terrible tragedy.” He went on to say, “Unlike some others, the Caldari State treats well those who might be its friends. And though the Minmatar Republic and Caldari State have been at odds in the past, it is time to look beyond those differences and work together.

Perhaps the Executor's offer was a trifle late to be of substantiative use - nonetheless I do wish the Sebiestor had found some way to allow us to aid that remarkable woman in her struggle for life.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

I hope that the Sebiestor Tribe has carefully considered this decision. I may not like Heth, but if he could offer the means to save the Ray of Matar, I would be inclined to forgive his faults. I'm sure the Tribe has better information than I do though, and it is their right to determine the best care for Midular.

Well at least they considered the offer rather then flat out refusing it because....... you know........Heth.

The intention is commendable, but the agenda behind it may stain the proposal a little. Maybe said offer would have been considered more genuine if executor Heth had not fallen again for his usual political japes directed at the Gallente.

Since gallente medical science has not been able to definitely put her out of danger, I have little hope for Caldari medical knowledge to do better, but it costs nothing to try. In fact, it could have been even more efficient if Caldari as well as Amarr offered their help genuinely. The combination of what Zainou, for example, has proved to be capable of and the deep medical amarrian knowledge could have proved useful.

Of course, that is what will only rarely happen in a divided cluster.

An attempt at the exploitation of a tragedy to score political points against the Gallente. Believing it to be done out of pure compassion would be naive.

How deeply cynical of him.

I suspect the Sebiestor leaders understood full well that this offer was made out of cynical politicking rather than actual compassion. Still, they took their time considering it... whether or not that was a diplomatic move on their part or whether they gave it serious thought I don't know.

In any case, cynical political showboating or not, it's good to see stuff like this happen. The Caldari and the Minmatar do need to start having a dialogue on why we're at odds and maybe looking into reinventing our relationship.

Ah Heth at his finest, the man still has some fight in him.

Seems he's ranted all the angry boy out and has gone back to trying to play the charming political snake. It's not his strongest role, but it has had mixed to positive results for him in the past.

Striking at a recent point of contention between the Federation and the Republic by attempting to (poorly) pass off genuine concern. Also an excellent dig at his rivals within the State itself, not that Ishukone can really approach the Republic, what are they going to offer, to fix things with TCMC's?

This was a well played gambit by Heth, costs him nothing if he's rejected and makes gains if he succeeds. Much better thinking than his recent lunatic drivel to crowds of pre-picked loyalists.

It is a light in the darkness that Heth would offer our Tribe such aid. Political insinuations aside, as a leader of an enemy state, he took a great risk in offering this. I never thought I'd utter the words "Thank you" with him as the intended recepient.

I do hope the Tribe did not deny the offer of aid solely for political reasons, though I will guess they did not. I do not know.

Refusal of this assistance likely means, one way or another, that the outcome for the Ray of Matar is no longer in question...

...anyway, thank you, Mr. Heth.

We know how it feels to have the jack boot of the Federation on the nape of our neck, and the contempt they have for our Caldari State.

The comments from the Federation zealots above ,is what we would expect from them regarding this generous and sincere offer of medical help.

Fine and noble gesture from our State Leader Tibus Heth.

Even if you feel cause to doubt Heth-haan's sincerity, please do not doubt the sincerity of our people. I'm saddened by the rejection, if only because it prevents me from helping. Best of luck in your efforts.

The bitterness of our federal friends is striking, if only they had thought of that first, instead of playing a legal tug of war. The friendly facade vanishes quickly if they don't get their way, no?

Anyways, I wish Midular good luck and that she can regain her health in good time. After all she's an interesting woman and, I hope, not quite done yet.

I hope, I trust this decision was made pondering nothing but Karin Midular well-being.

Not looking a gift horse in the mouth makes them bitter? Or because like everything that comes out of the blue these days they choose to analyse it and consider the angle it's coming from.

Remember, if something is too good to be true, there's usually a reason for that.

Of course, I commend you and Tomhorn in your attempts to slander the Federation in an attempt to endear yourselves further to the Republic in an attempt to weaken their alliance to a situation in your favour. Bravo.

One day here's hoping people can just offer aid and assistance with the notion of peace and prosperity, without ulterior, underhanded motives, between the Empires.

Tibus Heth isn't trying to be friends with the Minmatar by doing this, he just wants to create another enemy of the Gallente. This wasn't aid, this was a bribe, typical Provist tactics.

I'm sure the aid would of been sincere were it from the true Caldari people.

Predictably, he has failed. A few petty arguments over law aren't going to be enough to tear us apart.

Surprised by Heth's offer.

Not surprised by the Republic's response.

Amused by the Federal posters in this thread.

Yeah, considering Kyiokinnen-haani's statement in the same light as Horn-haan's simply shows you don't know either party as well as you should before making sweeping pronouncements about their motivations.

We shall find no peace between us until we stop assuming the worst of our neighbours and best of ourselves.

My thoughts and best wishes to the Ray of Matar.
